While doing maintenance yesterday I noticed that the rear shock on Brian's FJR ('13 A Model) is weeping a bit.

Does anyone have a Gen 3 Rear shock for sale?

The hagon shock was sprung to my specs, came with a hydraulic preload adjuster, and was built for way less than 1/2 the price of the Ohlin.

I sold the bike with 93k, 53k with that shock. It was about ready for a refresh, but not leaking.

The FJR is no longer listed on the Hagon UK website. I have reached out to them.

No Gen3 shocks for sale in the other sandboxes, last one sold in May for $250. Nothing good on ebay......
Might wanna check out YSS shocks, similar to Hagons, basic shock is ~$400...... so, contact Traxxion Dynamics, they sell YSS now. Confirm the spring rate and if you want remote preload, etc..... best get Traxxion by phone for this.

Here's more options. I bought the Ohlins YA-707 from them 2 or 3 years ago, and got it rebuilt this spring. They have other options. I think the Ohlins USA warehouse is down the road from them, which is convenient.

My old store sold me one for $500. That will do, the last one I bought was less than $300, inflation sucks.

Wish I would have had a chance to reply.

The fjr shock wasn't listed when i bought my hagon either. I was told to reach out to them, and they did have a part on file.

Oh well - problem solved.

Call EPM performance. They're in New Jersey. Ive talked to them and they can rebuild the stock shock. Im about to send my shock for my commuter into them and have it re built and resprung.

I think race tech can rebuild it too.

I emailed EPM, but no response.

What did they charge you to rebuild your shock?

I can cancel the order if need be.

Those who rebuild the OE shock have to saw it apart and affix an aftermarket top with shaft seal. Doesn't appear to be cheap or easy.

The OEM FJR shock is a bit weird in that it has two springs and a lockout mechanism on top, which is the HARD and SOFT setting.... don't know how you'd rebuild that except to eliminate one of the springs and no HARD/SOFT........ not worth it IMHO.

Yes you would have to eliminate one of the springs if you re sprung it. In general I'd agree with you that its not worth it, but for me, on my commuter FJR with 200k on it I'm OK with it... its not thrashing around the country anymore and has only one job to perform which is to get me to and from work. So im no longer ok with putting more money into it that what is absolutely necessary.

Got a reply from EPM quoted here for info:

" Hey John,
Yes, we can repair that shock without issue! You're looking a ~$300 for the repair, and a within 2 week lead time once the shock arrives here."

$300 to rebuild plus shipping both ways.

Got a deal on the new one.

New for the win!
