New member from NE Ohio
Hello, all.
I'm new to this forum, but I'm recognizing many usernames from the "other forums," so I'm guessing some will recognize my same handle I've used at those forums since 2016.
Been an FJR owner since that time (2016), when my new wife told me that buying the motorcycle model I'd always drooled about would be a great gift to myself, since my spousal support from my first wife was finally paid off. Yes, she's a keeper (as long as I have anything to do with it).
We found a used, silver 2011 with 19,000 miles on it, in excellent condition, and loaded to the hilt with extras. In the nine years since, I've gotten to know it well, and make it more and more my own. And turning 58 this year, I'm still giving it the respect its power and handling deserve (and what my limited riding capabilities can muster).
As a tool engineer and CAD drafter by trade, I love all things mechanical, and try to do my own maintenance and repairs. In my spare time I restore the occasional vintage motorcycle, and am a drummer/percussionist in several bands. Life doesn't get boring, that's for sure.
Hopefully I can add as much to the forum as I get from it.

Hello there! Greetings from the land of imprisoned governors. (Illinois)
Quick question: "Have you ever been to Cleveland?" If so, you will likely be required to explain said visit.

That's actually how I found out about this forum. Another user posted about it at the other site, so I registered here to check it out and get in on the action. I've been to a few rides in Marietta, and am planning to get to the Ramble ("Lord willing, and the creek don't rise").fontanaman wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 2:08 pm Welcome from Spokane Washington. And Cav47, what's behind the Cleveland question?

Yeah, sitting at my desk, in my office, at the Junior High I am principal of. Wait, those were supposed to be reasons I should not be drunk and when I typed them out.............

Ooh, relatable. The wife is retiring next month, after 30+ years of teaching. So hopefully we can BOTH stop drinking (haha).Cav47 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 9:39 amYeah, sitting at my desk, in my office, at the Junior High I am principal of. Hey hey hey, nobody likes a quitter. If you do decide to quit drinking, I would wait till after SEO. There is nothing funny about hanging around a bunch of drunk FJR riding comedians in a hotel parking lot when you're sober. I can't wait to meet you next month.FJRMaverick wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 11:55 amOoh, relatable. The wife is retiring next month, after 30+ years of teaching. Welcome from Marysville!
Dunno if we'll make to the Ramble or not. But, we'll be hosting a Tech Day this fall. Some of the folks going to the Ramble have made it to our Tech Day - hopefully you can make it down to at least say hi and hang out a bit!

As Joe said, we're in Marysville - a bit NW of Columbus.
There's another one coming up at the end of May in Michigan - here is the link to that thread.
