I saw this someplace but wanted to share my pics on it to make it clear and hopefully helpful. Total cost $8.00
Now I can easily get into my bags without having to turn off the bike
Parts 2 keys (get the metal ones as they are cheaper ($5.00 for 2)
2 knobs with set screws from radio shack
I used knobs with set screws--- $3.00 for 2
then just cut the new keys I had made for $5 to size
Here is the finished product
here they are in place

As I mentioned on the other forum, vibration may unlock your bags as the FJR has no detents to keep the lock from turning when the key is in. Could be expensive.

I had my lock fall apart because of zero thread locker. Had just pulled into the garage. Could have been ugly.

I learned a new word today.
"A
detent is a device used to mechanically resist or arrest the rotation of a wheel, axle, or spindle."

That is why you combine this with the pin mod.

Nice idea but if the key opens up your bag could open and dump all your gear even with the pin. I believe I come up with a way to prevent it from turning easily if I were to do this mod.

I do not know about everybody else but my saddlebags are pretty stubborn to unlock in the first place... I always worried about bending a key...
The last this that will happen with mine is to open "by Accident" with or with out a detent
