So,
go out to the less then a month old '13 after work and she WON't START! $^$^%$%#$%&%^&*^)&*(&*%^&$%#%$** is pretty much what I said. I get solonoid clicking, so I am thinking dead/low battery. Get a ride home, grab tools, go buy small jumper cables go back to work, pull the plastics hook up the cables and she fires right up. thorw everything in the car, lock it, get bike home and go back for car. get it home and check bike. turns right over. multiple times. The dash did say ERR when it wasn't turning over at work, so I am assuming there is a code to retrieve. I checked the "old" forum and all I can find is the gen I, II way to get codes. Anybody know how to get codes out of a gen III?
Thanks!
Greg

Brother Gregory, did you turn the key switch too far counterclockwise to the auxiliary parking light position without knowing it when you arrived at your work?
Yours truly did that and I also drained the battery, one click with the key too far and you are draining the battery down in a work shift time period! Trust me!
I now automatically double check parking light switch, don't want to be out of battery in the boonies like fecking Michigan! I want to disconnect this aux light!

Don, I may have. 30 seconds on jumper cables and a 6 mile ride home and she started multiple times last night. did not try to start this morning as I wanted to see if she would start when I get home tonight. Since I have her opened up, I will pull the battery and have it tested.

You Old Guys an Gen 3 owners are a hoot! You know when it's time to air up the tires on those new toys, you have to go to a Yamaha certified shop right?
Yep regular gas station or home compressor air has a contaminant level 37.79448% higher than factory air. You bastards are gonna pay to adjust air pressure.
So much fer bein' cool kid's eh?

Gregory I have not owned a motorcycle with that European/International parking light switch since my 1966 BMW R60/2, but what is amazing to me is that the 6 volt system front and rear lights on the /2 would stay illuminated all night on the street outside of my Augsburg Gasthaus apartment but the 2013 FJR drains the battery in eight hours!
