Went for another little ride, then came home and cut the grass
Cut the grass in northern Ohio, in late November

Must be global warming

Today I got up and headed to my buddy's house on the FJR about an hour and a half away. He's got a new place with a bunch of land and just had his shop built out back so I had to check it out. I also got to experience the advantage of selling my bikes that I bought from this friend back to him, by riding them. Then I rode his Suzuki Boulevard and he rode my FJR for the first time. He learned to NOT blip the AE throttle at a stop sign as he was in the habit of doing. Ha!
When I got home I went and picked up my new to me No Mar tire changer. Tire changes are going to be WAY better than with the old Harbor Freight changer.

Rode it to work again...suppose to be in the mid 60's for my ride home. Why am I here today?

I know right. Supposed to be near 50F in the land of igloos and polar bears. Roads are covered in salt, and, the bike is tucked away in the corner - it's no fun pushing a 700lb bastard directly sideways.

Rode it to work, then to a meeting and back to the office, and will make an official, on-the-clock tour of downtown Atlanta at 4:45, before heading to the barn at 6 pm.
I'll probably average 5.8 mph (9.3 kph) touring downtown at 5 pm. But it's outside, on the bike, in glorious weather, AND I'm getting paid, so no complaints.

Rode it down the HOV lane at 80 mph in fog and mist, then wove my way through a non-injury crash cleanup at the surface street end of the HOV exit ramp. Atlanta PD gave me a dirty look, but -- hey! -- if you don't want me driving there, give me clear directions about where you DO want me to go.

Went out, burnt a whole tank of gas, picked up good beer at Wellington Brewery, came home. Weather was cooler (4 degrees) but sunny.
Life is good with heated gear and beer.

Rode the FJR, with the trailer in tow, back to Atlantic IA. to where the trailer was purchased to let the warranty fix the trailer lights that failed by the time I got to SFO. So technically we got our asses kicked by trailer lights and a freakin propane heater.

Got up after a good night's rest and prepared for another day at work. All the gear is laid out and ready to go. Coffee is hot and in the thermos. Get dressed and go out to the shop and finish getting prepped for the ride to work. Heated grips on full blast, gloves and jacket liner are turned on and warming nicely. After I get out of town I turn the Clearwater Erica's to the deer vaporizing level and start to reflect. Why am riding today? I have a truck in the garage that has a heated steering wheel and seats. Another car that is functioning fine. Why am riding the bike? I look down at the temperature gage and smile. It's a balmy 24 degree's on Dec 1.
I guess there are a lot of reasons not to ride the bike but I think most the people reading this know. It's because we all something wrong with us. We are flawed on some level. We like when people look at us like we are idiots in all of our gear. We like people to ask the question WHY. The answer for me is very simple. I love to ride motorcycles and everything about it. So I smiled and turned up the music as loud as it would go and rode to work. What a great way to start the day.

After the ass kicking I got from the trailer lights I stayed way the hell away from that propane heater. So technically I only got one ass whipping that night.

How'd that turn out?
BTW, I managed to successfully not get my butt kicked by the fire, and got it successfully stoked from coals to a nice fire. Although, the size of the fire apparently wasn't to everyone's satisfaction. Though to be fair, I don't think that guy would have been satisfied with a forest fire at a gasoline refinery on the side of an erupting volcano while the sun goes supernova.

Took it to the dealer yesterday because I didn't want to void any warranty by pulling the loom myself. Plus It was going to be a real beyotch to pull the loom/plus i said f-it! this is a factory defect/let them spend x amount of hours fixing their own screw up. mostly it was going to be a huge pita and I didn't wan't to deal with it..lol
I thought the fire was built like a pro. couldn't have done it better myself. no bs it was nice fire
Wish we could get a up date on that heater though.lol
