We will press on riding the red and yellow roads.
I too am enjoying this report, but have one burning/chilling question....

Why are 3 intrepid retired souls, WHO ARE RETIRED, riding across Canada with temps in the 30s? I used to hold you three in high intellectual esteem, but after this climate SNAFU, I am wondering and my assessment skills.

LOL

Have a great time.
Hey Josh this what you get to look forward to when you retire! As you approach retirement age, you can continue to do the difficult job you do or ride in Canada when it is just above freezing searching for the next Timmy's for a warm up.

Great ride report and perseverance.

So are we!

And the #@)/ing boots leaked badly again, even with the Gaiters!

Drying out for the evening at St Simeon QC, 42f and raining outside.

We had about an hour of good riding on QC 170 coming back down to the St Lawrence at St Simeon, then it rained like a two orficed cow the last 20 km.

No pictures today other than the route we rode.

will you be catching the ferry from there, or continuing further up the St. Lawrence?

When it rains, it pours!
The management of the Matane–Baie-Comeau–Godbout Ferry informs its customers that because of adverse sailing conditions, all sailings planned for Saturday, May 24, 2025 are cancelled.

IMHO, the season has shifted to at least a month later than usual... in my little sheltered area as well. I blame climate change. Similar last year but not quite as bad..... overall cooler than normal..... it was a very bad stroke of luck they came through in a real rainy season, that sux..... this rain has been one big counterclockwise swirl... crap shoot for tomorrow.

edit add.... the ferry at Tadoussac is only about 10-15 minutes, kinda maybe sheltered, I can't imagine that shut down..... it's a significant truck route.

The Plan - such that it is

1. Tomorrow morning we head to Quebec City BMW to replace the crappy boots. They have the requisite boots in stock and are open tomorrow.

2. Mail/Ship the crappy boots back to the place I bought them from for a full refund - confirmed via phone today. For the Canadians - what is the best and the cheapest way to ship these back?

3. We will cross the St Lawrence at Quebec via the bridge and head East up the South side.

All first world problems solvable with my credit card.

Thanks for all the assistance along the way.

DHL/Fedex/UPS are your only options as Canada Post is about to go on strike.

I'll see if I can get the dealer I'm going to purchase the replacements from to UPS the defective boots back to Winnipeg for whatever his cost is.
