Mona not happy after hearing you and Debbie not showing. And to think we just picked up 2 mason jars of that tasty orange creeamsicle shine Saturday night to bring along.
Dang nab-bhurrr!

Yeah, we chose SFO this year instead, and since we're not retired yet, we have to chose 'em up. I'll be looking for the RR's and most likely have my tongue hanging out.

I rode it to work in the rains of Hurricane Harvey. We are not getting much wind and my route will not flood anytime soon so this isn't as dumb as it sounds.

Oddly, there were no other motorcycles at work yesterday or today. I got a couple comments from the Real Harley Riders... I offered to follow them home and wait while they got their trucks parked so we could all go for a ride. No takers.

It would be different if I didn't invest in quality riding gear, if I didn't pick my tires based on rain traction, if my motorcycle were not well maintained and reliable, and if I didn't constantly strive to improve my skill set. I do all that so I can actually ride the damned bike whenever I want to and more importantly, whenever I NEED to.

Maybe I should just buy some chrome polish and bandannas and drive my truck. Oh, I guess I will need a Harley sticker for the back glass so folks know what I have parked at home.

My riding co-workers all know I am a bit "off" mentally and they do respect the fact that I ride as much as I do. And some of them do ride in the rain. But only when they have to.

Isn't that the way we all are? I park my lipstick red '14 in a sea of black amd chrome at work. I am sure I have been called more than "a little off", but I take it as a compliment.

Replaced the hydraulic preload braided line on the RaceTech G3 shock I moved from the '07 to the '14. Second failure. Figured it out, swingarm was hitting the fitting and breaking it. This time there were telltale marks on the swingarm. The remote is mounted inside the rear footpeg mount, and since Yamaha changed the mount for Gen3, the geometry isn't compatable as is. So, once I saw the marks on the swingarm, I was able to rotate the bracket on the remote to avoid the swingarm. Got the new line and got it all back together.

It wasn't raining so I rode to work today since it wasn't my day to work from home. I didn't park in a sea of black and chrome though. The motorcycle parking lot was filled as usual on nice days like this. A few HD's, a Goldwing, an ST1300, SuperDuke 1290, Aprilia Dorsoduro, a MotoGuzzi of some sort and several other bikes as well that didn't catch my eye. The ZX6R Special Ediiton and the Honda Grom were missing though.

Got a nice new PR4GT mounted on the rear of the bike. I keep staring at the new tread. It's so pretty...... Took her for a little 50 mile ride to scuff up the new tire some. Back in business. Rear tread still pretty. I was getting a little tired of looking at the worn out rear tire after the NERDS trip. It wasn't pretty. Now the rear tread is pretty again. So pretty.....

Got our Fobo's (TPMS). Will get them on this weekend, along with Sena 20's mounted.

Anyone need Doran monitors (TPMS)?

In Arkansas there's 400 miles left on those easy. In Dallas you'd be lucky to get 10.

Just got home after 5 days and 1600 miles in Arkansas. Only took about 125 pictures. More riding this trip. I'll throw together a ride report of some kind .....

I'm quite jealous. I'd be even more jealous if you had mentioned buttermilk pie in Oark. As it happens though, today was a good non-FJR day for me.

Seriously, I am happy to see that smallest bike in there. Is Mrs. Gixxerjasen riding with GJ Sr. and Jr.?

Yep, I'm riding the big piggy DRZ, quite the handful in the soft sand but didn't go down so that's good. Those aren't really good sand tires too I don't think. Motivating me to finish up my KTM rebuild as soon as the crank rebuild shop opens back up next month.

Image

Mrs GJ is riding a Honda CRF230F which is a real gem of a bike. It's not fast, it doesn't have super suspension but it is small, light, goes like a tractor and is very confidence inspiring, which is good as she's never ridden any motorcycle before.

Little GJ is riding a Honda CRF70F. Found out today there's not much size difference between the 70 and the 110 as he got to sit on one and the 70 makes plenty of power for him. So, we'll have to figure out what to buy him when he needs to move up again. Probably have to dig deep into the pockets and find a KTM SX65 or something.

Image

That's an older picture. Hot as all get out today though, looking forward to temps coming down for riding this fall, winter and spring.
