Still a lot of tread left on that tire. Right Wayne?

You are correct...the plan WAS to head down to SEO today to take care of that. Tire just was not holding air so well, with 2 more plugs in it.

Took my college age daughter on a ride over to 178/215/BRP after work today. Work ends at noon on Friday down here. Last weekend before daughters last year of schoolin...she seemed to enjoy the lean action and views from the BRP overlooks.
Happy eclipse day on Monday. Everybody is doing Moonshine for the full 2 minutes of the eclipse to celebrate...then it's back to work making meth.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I hopped on the FJR to ride to work this morning...
And she wouldn't start.
Battery was a bit too weak.
So I hooked 'er up to the battery tender.
I guess only riding 400 miles so far this year has pissed 'er off.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Pulled the wheels during the week for some new shoes in anticipation of my labor day tour in the Ozarks. Got the tires mounted this morning and I'll install the wheels tomorrow morning. The PR4s that came off were replaced by my last set of PR2s. The PR4 is a very good tire, but its not a better value - 30% more mileage for 30% more money. Too bad...
All this just in time for Hurricane Harvey!!! I'd give myself a 25% chance of making the L/D ride. Boo hoo!!!

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
This tire thing always falls back to a matter of personal opinion. Since we all RIDE our bikes and we all know what the tires need to do none of us make the "wrong" decision when it comes to tires. Still, I will disagree with your assessment of the PR4.Hppants wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2017 6:34 pm Pulled the wheels during the week for some new shoes in anticipation of my labor day tour in the Ozarks. Because:
1. I find the wet grip of the PR4 to be in a class of its own. I ride the bike in the rain a lot.
2. The profile of the PR4 rear gives me a slight ground clearance advantage before I start grinding things.
3. To extend my intervals between replacing tires by 30% I would be willing to pay an additional 60%. It comes down to my money or my time...
On rainy days at work there is only one motorcycle in the employee parking lot. It's mine and it wears Michelin PR4s.
Edit:
Remember this day?

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Changed oil & filter, FD oil, spark plugs, TBS. Replaced the 4 little rubber caps after doing TBS as all of mine were cracked and pretty much shot. Test ride put odo past the 80k mile mark. Still runs as strong as the day I bought it only 5 years ago. New PR2's in garage to be installed after Void Rally and before EOM.
Day 160 consecutive riding 10 or more miles.
Tomorrow Mona's F800ST gets worked on. FJR gets a day off. Not a common thing for me.

Took a short little ramble up and around Greenville County and into the Saluda Grade area. Awesome little ride. Weather was perfect. Had more curves and smiles on this ride than a 500 mile ride in Illinois and Wisconsin.
