High School Cross Country runner here. I always volunteered for road guard duty in boot camp. I couldn't run as slow as the platoon, so sprinting past them to get to the next intersection provided enough challenge. The Battalion run was the best, as that was a looooong sprint to get back to the front.

Because I had read your post, when I was updating my gps this morning, I checked. Evidently, the fastest my 595LM is programmed to read, if someone ever went that fast, is 132.... Which is just silly.

Rode my FJR 200 miles today. Headed up north to ride on a road recently paved with asphalt. Ran out of time and head to get back home. Retired and I run out of time - ugh. Had to pick up the car from a shop. Despite the short ride it was a nice day for a ride. Summer in Spokane yeah! 75° with 27% humidity. Perfect.

At this lake kids on the dock (not in the photo) were jumping into the lake. It was a nice scene to see kids playing enjoying the day. Reminded me of when I was young.

220 miles today. Left at Dawn and rode about 100 miles through the Miss. River floodplain to Natehawk750's house. We checked the valves on his bike (all good), threw a set of spark plugs in it, and sync'd the throttlebodies. Redfish and his Pops showed up on their Feejers for moral support - good to see those jokers today.

On the way home, the bike registered 100 for a short while. I was going to take a longer way home, but in that heat, I say the heck with it. The faster I rode on the interstate, the cooler the engine would run. 92 mph and 177 degrees F on the coolant was about right for the bike, although Pants was drying out like a raisin. I get one exit from home and a black cloud in front of me brings traffic to a stop. So I veered off and rode about 25 miles around the t-storm to the house. That rain dropped temps down to 84 and it was actually kind of nice.

On fill up this morning, I recorded 46.4 MPG from the previous tank, which may be my best "at sea level altitude" mileage I can remember on this FJR. Now, it tripped reserve at 202 miles this afternoon, so I'm guessing 92 mph dropped the mileage just a little.... (bad Pants).

Last night I changed the oil in it (and the DR650) and this morning I rode it over to Pop's house. His FJR was waiting outside already. We rode over to Nate's house, watched Nate and Hppants work while I talked. They would work, I would talk. They would take a break and I would talk. They would work some more and I would talk some more.

I had to go to work tonight so we left them working.

And I rode the FJR to work tonight too.

How on earth did four Louisiana residents get together and there's no food porn? WTF? Especially THESE four!

It's the heat, my Texas brutha from anotha mutha. We can't think straight now. We're wet on the outside from the sauna, and dry on the inside from dehydration.

Nate's lovely wife Lauren, who some of you know, prepared a great spread for sandwiches and fruit for lunch. Great light meal for these summer temps. Having skipped breakfast to hit the pavement early, I wolfed down my sandwich like a hyena on a wildebeest. Truly, the darned thing went down like an aspirin tablet.

6-8 more weeks of this heat.... (sigh)

NIce. I've noticed a lot of kids doing typical kid stuff this summer ... meaning they were OUTSIDE being kids. Good for them!

I rode it for the first time in months. It was fun.

Finished off the weekend maintenance this morning with a brake and clutch fluid flush. I've been putting it off, but after the disaproving looks from Redfish Saturday, while performing a valve check, I figured I better do it.
