Packing up the FJR and making ready for Red Lodge. Shove off Monday AM to hook up with Fontanaman for the ride over. Lots of great roads between here and there, first on the list is North Cascades...should be an adventure!!

For you stalkers, I'll add a Spotwalla link to the Red Lodge thread.

Ack! Wifey and I will meet ~G in Winthrop. I have a very nice route cooked up for the ride to Spokane and you will have access to some great roads hardly on a state map. ~G is giving away my secrets. 😁 Ha ha.

Rode with Designflaw today. The weather was noteworthy - mild temperatures, a light breeze off the lake, and slightly humid...

Rode it 420 mile from Spokane to Salmon Idaho on the first leg of the trip to Red Lodge. It was a great day to be along Lolo Pass with the rivers full of water, clean air and wonderful mountains.

Loaded it into the back of the Tacoma. Headed west on I-80 to Des Moines. Will invade Spearfish tomorrow.

No video of this? Darn. I am sure loading an FJR into a Tacoma could provide lots of YouTube moments.

In my 54 laps around the sun, I've learned a few undeniable facts. One such fact is this:

When you ride motorcycles with Designflaw, it's gonna rain.

Now as a self-described Man of Science, I can understand why some of you may find that hard to believe. I mean - let's face it. What are the odds that EVERY single time our Michigan friend throws a leg over, condensed water vapor will simply fall out of the sky?

100%. No doubt. Really. Period. That is all....

Hppants,

I can believe that. I fly hang gliders for fun, when not riding the FJR (or maybe the reverse). I can change the dynamics of the atmosphere, such as wind direction and velocity, just by setting up my glider. Conversely, when the conditions go bad, we draw straws to see who has to pack up their glider and leave. This selfless act will usually appease the weather gods, and everybody else can have a nice flight.

P.S. Life is too short, and health is too valuable, to ride on cheap parade-duty tires.
Yeah, I ride motorcycles. I know why dogs put their heads out of the car windows.
Yeah, I fly hang gliders (3000 hrs.+). I know why the birds sing.

Well, in the past 2 months, he's 2 for 2 on the rain.

And a little water crossing to keep us on our toes as well.

Met in Dawsonville for a Heavenly Biscuit and coffee. Rode up to Suches. The new pavement in Dahlonega and going up is really sweet. Rode Wolfpen Gap, then up 19 to Owltown Rd. across over to 60. Such a beautiful valley with many great properties up there.Looped back down 60 to Suches, where we ran into some rain. Sat at TWO in gliders for about a half hour talking with some other riders. Then back down to Dahlonega and back to the farm. About 230 miles total. Great ride. Very pleased with the Bridgestone T31 GT's. Felt solid in the rain as well. So lucky to be in such close proximity to some of the best ridng in the country. Gotta love Georgia.

I have a good riding friend who calls himself, "Johnny Raincloud" He says no matter how good the forecast is if your riding with Johnny you can count on rain. I have taken many trips with Tim/Johnny and he has "Worked His Magic" as he calls it often just like the photo from a recent trip. This is typical for a 0% chance of rain with ole Johnny
