Rode it to play yesterday. Great day of riding with my little short friend, Panman. A couple hundred miles of curves but the traffic is returning. Still a awesome day. Thanks Kevin.

Conducted a pre-dawn raid on US129. Okay- I left fairly early, but it was mid morning when I was there. Tried out the black 20307 I picked up a while back. It will never be a touring shield, but I think it’ll see a lot of hot weather use. Around 6 hours total. Not a bad run, considering I snuck it in during the workweek.

#new favorite gloves

Tomorrow, the 20308 goes back on, barkbuster storm handguards come off for summer, and oil/filter/FD fluids get changed.

Arrived today. The liner is stupid, but thankfully I have other liners and rainsuits. I like it, but haven't ridden with it yet. I lost my mind and was stupid when selecting my pants size, so they got sent back for an exchange.

Road it 400 miles today including Rattlesnake Grade and Dooley Mountain Highway. Shacking up in John Day Oregon for two nights. Restaurants are open and life is good.

Oh I found a use for sport mode - Northeastern Oregon.

. Nothing better than riding in the box.

A friend gave me a rev’it gt- air, last generation. I have liked it so well that I ordered a gt-r air 2. I ordered the rev’it rain shell a while back, and, between a heated liner and that rain shell, I can comfortably ride from pretty cold to pretty damn hot. Let me know how your jacket holds up. It certainly looks good.

What rain shell are you using? I have to admit, I'm not a fan of the internal rain liner logic. Also, a common complaint on this one is that the internal rain liner is also the thermal liner. This is a summer jacket, last thing I need when it's rainy and humid is a thermal liner. I knew that going in, I already have heated gear for when it's cold, and a rain suit. That said, I'll probably be needing a new rain suit in the near future, curious what you are using with your jacket.

For hot weather, I ordered the cyclone 2 rain jacket. Works fine. Comes in its’ own stuff sack. Which I haven’t used since I removed the jacket from it.

My 4 season strategy, Olympia mesh, Rev-it looks similar to an Airglide... inner liner on recent Olympia is two piece, one thermal one wind-water proof. Use base layers to manage temperature... LD Comfort, then heated liner (W&S breathable for a little airflow) for up to say 68F, plug in an turn on if it gets colder, add waterproof liner if wanting to block wind when freezing, OR, rain jacket on top. Works 4 seasons, don't have to pack much.
Inner waterproofing for rain is just dumb. Gortex doesn't do it for me, none have enough venting for hotter weather especially behind a fairing and windshield..... that's better for Europe when you have often cooler and sometimes damper conditions, occasional rain, it works well there.

I have had a Revit Tornado jacket for 6 years. It get wear and gets washed. The HV color has faded a little but other than that it is fine.
I love Rev'it gear.

Today, my bike watched as I changed out the tire on the trailer (no, my FJR has never been on it, though it has a motorcycle chock). It wasn’t fun, but it wasn’t bad.

Regarding gear- I don’t think I’ll ever settle for less than aerostich for cooler weather, and as ray notes above, mesh with a couple of liners covers the rest of the year nicely. Regarding rev’it- I want the sand 3 jacket. Badly. But it doesn’t perform any function that I don’t already have covered, and it costs too much to justify since it wouldn’t be filling a hole. I have a new Olympia xmoto that is superb. They know (knew) what they’re doing. But the XL xmoto is a little too big for me. The xl of the sand fits like they custom made it for me.

Edit : Jasen what is it you don't like about the liner? My jacket is the original tornado, not sure if they changed the liners. Mine has a nice warm quilted liner. It's actually too much for here in Florida. Generally if we get cold weather it heats up as the day goes on. So I would rather layer up than take the time to put in the jacket liner. I seldom use them. However it looks like a decent liner for someone to use in cold weather. I highly doubt it's water proof like advertised.

This sounds like someone with an old Aerostich that hasn't priced them recently.
Used to be you could get a Roadcrafter Classic for about $900
Rev'It Sand 3 Jacket and Pants will run you $858. That's cheaper than the old Aerostich price.
Current Aerostich Roadcrafter Classic will run you $1227.00 for the cheapest one, add another $150 for the stealth.

I'd looked at them while shopping recently. I'm thinking Aerostich saw what people were willing to pay for Klim stuff and decided to jump on the price bandwagon.

Lost my post. The sand 3 and aerostich are not comparable. The 3 is mid range and priced a little high for it. Aerostich darien is top tier and priced like it. The roadcrafter has been around since 1983, the Dariens since around 1992. I rode a long time before I treated myself to top end stuff, and I’ll never go back if I can help it, not as long as I’m riding heavy and often.

If I could get comparable longevity, comfort, convenience, dryness, and customer service from anyone else at a comparable or lower price, I’d be all about it. Haven’t found anything comparable yet.

Rode it to the DMV....well I guess yesterday now....anyway rode to the DMV to get a plate for the recently acquired hooligan bike. DMV lady was a real Beach....(like part of the job description or something), so I took a nice long round about route back to the house to simmer down. Also rode to work Monday and Tuesday.

Abused it on some of the best roads in NE Oregon today. The ES does not put a smile on my face like my A model 09 did with a Penske/GP setup. More testing is needed but I think the rear spring is too soft for my liking. My Penske spring was 850 lbs. Not sure the rating of the ES spring.

Rear shock is 685, and obviously undersprung. The ES suspension is a compromise... you'll have to crank the preload up to two-up and whatever, then adjust damping a touch softer and hope you hit a suitable balance. Unfortunately damping is not separately adjustable front and rear.

Thanks Ray. This is starting to make sense now. After the ES lost its composure I cranked up the preload with a soft damping just as you said

My only remaining moves are have Cycletrader send notifications on 16 A models recently posted or call Race Tech.
