Yes you can get dirt and a wee bit of teflon worn off the bushings in ES. From the ones I've done, the oil still has its original colour, has traces of something as "lines" in it...... dirty is relative, don't know what G saw... hydraulic oils are pretty robust considering the beating they take from heat. The hydraulic fluid in the cardboard baler I had lived in a very dusty environment, looked OK after 10 years, albeit it was filtered and had an air filter for the expansion tank as well.

Ride hard on a hot day. Place hand on fork tube. Apply burn ointment to hand. The fork oil that has come out of my FJR '04 was usually black and turgid but on occasion there were also globules floating in honey colored and honey viscosity fork oil. It got worse after I installed aftermarket springs. Anyone need OEM Gen I fork springs? I have a couple that have a date with the dump.
Our local roads were paved by the lowest bidder then our crappy weather beats the heck out of the pavement. Our suspensions get a major workout over the rippled, and frost heave broken pavement and you can feel the heat on the fork tubes after a good road pounding.

This is the perfect application for dry aerosol moly lube. Superior friction reduction, dries completely so no dust attraction.

Yesterday was a warm, rainy day so I replaced the spark plugs, replaced the coolant, replaced the TBS port rubber caps and inspected/gooped a few ground spiders. Good Day.

Took all the bags off, checked the sr357 and armor bolts to make sure they were snug.

I have birds that try every year to build a nest in the gas mask I have hanging on the wall. I removed
it, and blocked the dog door they were coming in. And damned if I’m not working on my laptop in the garage and I see one of one of them looking in the window. Poor birds.

275 miles through central Louisiana today, my friends.
Cloudy and 55 deg F this morning - I didn't bring enough clothes and it was kind of chilly. But the sun came out and it was nice this afternoon.

Cleaned up the 09 today in preparation for selling it. Took some photos and sent it off to some local leads. If that falls through it will be here on the forum soon at a rock bottom price. Not because it is in bad shape but because I need reclaim room in my garage.

Mounted a set of FOBO 2 TPMS. I like it so far and the app is really good! Soooo much easier to know what the pressures are. Also installed and setup a Sena RC4 remote for my new 10 C. Look forward to using it, makes managing the camera a whole lot easier.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
STILL no mechanic, but I am getting brave! My Penske shock started puking on my garage floor so after a few YouTube videos and a call to Chuck for a sanity check, I pulled the shock. Sending it back to Penske for a rebuild.
Then I installed a GEN II dash.
Then I installed (temp install with zip-ties) a dashcam and dvr with front and rear cameras....
I guess when I get the shock back and try to put it in we'll find out if I am a Champ or a Chump!!

I’ve been using Fobo since they first started shipping product. That same set is still going strong. I wouldn’t be without it.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Rode mine to work this morning. Seems my commute is about the only riding I'm getting to do lately. Staying at home is not without it's perks though as I'm finally really cleaning out my garage. Working on repainting it and better organizing it.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
My Denali Powerhub2 quit working. Did some troubleshooting and found the relay went bad. Pulled up the relay and there was rust all over the bottom. Pulled the circuit board and was heavily corroded.
Used contact cleaner to clean the board and got a replacement relay. Everything works now. Still need to figure out a better way to waterproof the box. It's under the seat by the tail light, so I am not sure how it got so wet.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Mounted this backrest. Cost me less than$15 CDN! The backrest is independent of the Pelican case and is mounted on an 'L' shaped bracket...the short part tucks under the back of the grab rail and slides into a bracket/slot which is mounted on the underside of the case platform, which I made many years ago also from heavy gauge aluminum. The backrest pad itself came off some old Harley piece I found at a flea market for $10. The backrest itself can be removed by lifting a retaining pin and sliding it out forward. My wife's riding days are diminishing and I didn't want to spend $200 on a more permanent set-up.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Took advantage of another beautiful spring day and adventured up and to the Parkway via Chimney Rock, Rt 9/ Old Fort Rd thru Old Fort, then up Rt 80 (an incredibly narrow and twisty road) to the BRP. A 240 mile loop from Greenville. Life in the rural areas is pretty much like normal but quiet as can be once you get up to the parkway which of course is just the way you want it. I rode as far as the entrance to Mt Mitchel which of course is closed but the road going west was closed as well. I was told like many in my area they had a lot of downed trees from the very high winds a few days ago. It was evident from Rt 80 to that point on the BPR as many trees had been across the road and cleaned up. A few photos for your viewing pleasure

Nice. Today I rode mine on errands. Full

Rode mine to work today and since we were kind of slow spent some time shopping on Partshark.com then came home and placed my order. Now to wait for my goodies.
