Some of the best roads around here in the Upstate of SC for those not familiar. Great therapy to forget about all that's wrong with the world for sure. I got home, the endorphins pumping, and then sat with the whisky bottle  thankful for having such a great motorcycle to ride on a specatcular day.

If he is riding a FJR it has OEM mirrors, you can's see the mirrors past Blueridgerider's elbows.

I helped him out with routing his first IBA Saddlesore ride last summer and we hit it off and have become friends. Following my wreck at EOM last year Dianne wasn't healed up in time for the Void Rally and as it was going to be Jim's first big event I offered to ride as a 2 bike team to help each other out. He's been looking for an FJR on and off ever since but needed one to fit his budget.
I thought I heard someone take my name in vain!

Yeah, thanks for freshening up the gas and getting it ready for me! I am pretty excited about the FJR. 100% would rather Bill was still riding it, though! I hate to capitalize on a good guys misfortune, but I can promise a good home for the FJR. Roads and Rallys by day and a heated garage by night!

So, I SHOULD be able to post tomorrow on 'what did you do to your FJR today' that I brought it home from PA!

Crap.. now I posted.... off to post on the Introductions thread...

Jim

Thanks Wheaton I am glad you liked the post. Its fun experimenting with different camera angles and making photos from the video. Super Wide is next  The video is pretty crazy with that view as it looks like your flying on a carpet. Riding sure is therapeutic. Best medicine for what ails ya.

ordered a pair of Road 5's. Don't need them yet, but will have in the ready and get the rebate. Not cheap but $50 off helps.

Gave the underside a good rinsing from last Sunday's ride. Tires are good. Have a PR2 rear tire and Pilot Power front on deck...but these Angels will be good for awhile yet.

I have them on 2 bikes now including the FJR and think you will love them. So far they are the best tires I have ever put on any of my motorcycles over the years. They are on my 2017 Z900 Kawi as they were recommended and they have really delivered all the way around on that bike. They were not rated for the FJR until recently as many of us know and as soon as they were available I put a set on. I have about 1000 miles on them on the FJR and the bike just handles so well with them. Flawless in my opinion, very flickable for a bike of its size with them. I have gained much more confidence leaning this bike now with these tires. The previous tires I had on this bike did not last at all and I could start to feel deterioration in handling after a few thousand miles. Given the deep tread depth I would image they will provide good mileage as well. The jury is of course still out on that as time will tell but so far fantastic. Wished I would have saved $50 however but so far worth every cent.

Drug it out of the garage, pressure washed the dust off of it and rode it to work tonight. It's been so long since I rode it that the stupid clock was correct, I had not changed it this winter.

None of my bikes have been ridden lately because my work commute would require slipping the clutch for 5 miles of my 8.5 mile ride home. I can deal with bad weather but I hate slipping the clutch.

Bad cold, so instead of riding, pulled/cleaned/lubed Levers and pegs. Riding so much in the rain really makes these things need more frequent attention. You could weigh the grime and grit I wiped out of the parts and the attachment points. A friend helped me install a new rear tire Friday. Front will get replaced next weekend, most likely.

Installed T-Rex engine guards on my '18. Pretty easy install, know looking for a set of luggage guards, it seems T-rex is out of stock. Also looking for mirror extenders, but it seems everyone is out of stock on those as well....no rush.

Over the last few days. Changed fork oil, new tapered steering head bearings, new horn, valve adjustment with two valves needing smaller shims. More lubing to come.

Now for some reason when it comes off high idle, it stalls. Idle adjustment screw does nothing. Need to look with fresh eyes tomorrow.

With Bob's (Intech) help I am learning suspension. We made a few changes at the FWG. Then I did another this weekend. It feels great. I am not that fast so I don't see needing a suspension upgrade. I think as I learn more and dial it in I will be fine.

I am going to do my part each and everyday to help with the coronavirus. I will be practicing social distancing by riding my FJR as far away from crowds as possible. I will make sure I wear gloves as I always do to prevent the spread of germs and I will cleanse my system when I return home from an endorphin filled ride by drinking some serious whisky. The best thing we can all do is turn off the FN TV and go riding!
