I got the manual, that is what the assembly is sitting on in the picture.............Not that I can read it very well apparently!

That is my next concern. After the pads went back in correctly, she stopped just fine. We will wait and see how the new ones bite after I get the brakes bled.

Or, a group of FJRiders will go to FUBAR's house and take away their tools and give them the address to a local shop. Hmm, perhaps require that the FUBAR winner sponsors and participates in a tech day.

I've been reading more and more about the advisability of these front and rear dash cams on various sandboxes. Since I already had the bike apart installing other farkles, and I had an extra unused circuit on my PDM60, I figured what the ****...lets try this camera thing, especially for the rear. Found a good place to mount the lens I think.

Apparently owning the manual did little help for either of us.

So you have a screen that will allow you to see what is back there?? Or have proof for the authorities when you are rear ended? The install is clean and neat looking. Kinda James Bond-ish. Will it spray an oil slick if you flip a switch? Looks good.

I'm thinking it's a good thing that Cav is in administration and not an auto shop teacher.......I can see how it can happen though.

Yes to the screen(mounted on my dash shelf) and yes to the proof god forbid that I get rear ended. I would love to mount some rocket launchers and tank cannons in addition to the oil slick feature, but I've run out of empty circuits and places to mount switches!

Washed it. Once I got it out in the sunlight, I saw it was covered by fine, sparkly, crystalline abrasive dust. A remnant of the salt covered roads I followed a bunch of hoons on yesterday.
Most of those roads were pristine. But one had so much leftover salt that the bee that was in front of me was kicking up a rooster tail of the stuff.
Sunday I followed a Cowboy, two friendly Dragons, and a supersonic Bee through the mountains- and sometimes they slowed down just to let me keep up. Or so I told my visiting grandson when I got back home.

Yeah, I should have washed the bike when I got home...but too knackered to do it...and the beer tasted too good.
The supersonic part happened on SC130 SB...fortunately it didn't cost me anything. I had Mr. Blue Sky trailing me like a blue Darth Vader all ride.

I think many of us have had issues occasionally installing new pads. What makes this EPIC is the amount of wear on the metal. MOST IMPRESSIVE!

I once put the pads on backwards on my truck. I was tired and it was dark. But still no excuse.
I didn’t notice until I walked by a wheel full of metal shavings the next afternoon. Didn’t pull, didn’t make noise.

That amount of wear happened pretty quick. And I bet some of it was just a result of the rotor dragging. I also knew the piece was Fubared and did not change it out at my brothers house. It was going to have to be totally redone. So I rode home and parked the FJR. That was last year in late August. The FJR pretty much got parked after that. I do have a dual sport, but sure missed the fall riding season due to Football.
