Click the Find a Business tab there. Nuts & Bolts is a completely separate heading in the YP, 'way better at finding good hardware than any other heading. Search with a local ZIP (postal) code to find nearby stores, which can be Sorted By Distance on the YP site. Call ahead, for what you need.

200 miles yesterday with a buddy. Nothing special - found a flood plain and rode in and around it. Foggy and 60 degrees early. Fog burned off about 10:30 am and it warmed to 78 in the afternoon. Shortly after take off, I smelled some good smoke from a 1/2 mile out heading into Port Barre'. At that point, I knew I would adjust my loop to put me right back here for lunch. The chicken was delicious, although the side dishes were just "so so".

None the less, I got my fix. I rode somewhere and ate something....

Went for a nice ride on Saturday. There was a front coming through so I headed west, then south. Keep riding till I ran out of road. Chokoloskee FL just a little town right on the edge of the Everglades. You can continue on to the Keys by boat, but no roads.

About as far south as you can ride in this part of Florida. The front was passing over about that time. Just a little rain, then it cleared up really nice.

Not sure if you can see it in the picture, but the wood part of the dock has some serious structural problems. I didn't take the bike on that part.

Heading home I stopped for some Cuban Coffee. That stuff is like legal crack!!

Nice ride of about 250 miles. After the front passed the weather was great. Clear and cool.

Went for a "toys for tots" ride with 2-300 Hardleys and an old Kawasaki yesterday. Good thing to do for foster kids, not much fun for me.

Next year I will drop off the toy at the fire station on my way to the mountains. LOL

More Patriot Guard stuff:

I finally found a good used "flag holder" on Craigslist for cheap. Modified it some, and bolted it on top of my trailer hitch. {Three bolts so I can remove it easily when I want to go camping}.

I have a single aluminum flag pole and a VERY light, very well put together, American flag, for "high speed" missions. {interstate and long-distance missions"

And a couple of wooden flagpoles with cheap cotton Walmart flags for short, low-speed missions. ["missions" are mostly to escort the hearse to the Cemetary but sometimes we escort "remains" long distances}.

Although the "escorts" are the part we, as motorcyclists look most forward to, most of serving with the Patriot Guard involves standing in front of the Church or Funeral Home with a flag in your hand as folks arrive for visitation or for the service, and then after the escort, standing in a circle around the "tent" at graveside with flags in hand. Lot's of heat, snow, and cold involved, but very rewarding. Some of the most "rewarding" missions involve either "seeing off" troops or "welcoming back" troops at airports.

Not looking for praise, just "recruiting" mostly. LOL

Managed to sneak out yesterday for about 60-70 miles. Not many by FJR standards but what I could squeeze in. Nowhere in particular just felt a little nostalgic so I rode past where I grew up, went to high school, and just my general old stomping grounds form my younger days. Got home in time to go to a Christmas dinner theater event that our neighbor gave us tickets for. Her son is a 'special needs" young man who loves motorcycles and for some reason adores me. Whole cast of the play were special need folks and they did a bang up job. When Teddy came out onto the stage and saw Dianne and I in the audience he near broke his arm waving at us he was so excited. I wish so bad I could get him out on the bike for just one short ride. His mom says if it really came down to it he'd be too scared.

We really don't realize how fortunate we all are.

Took Rene for a 200 mile ride today with a buddy on his K1600. 64 degrees was too good to pass up. Took 136 across to Dahlonega and 60 up to Suches. Then rode Wolfpen Gap, one of my favorites. We then blasted up to the River Valley Casino in Murphy, NC for lunch and a little Roulette. Got home about 5 pm. My buddy went thru a monsoon the last half hour of his ride home. Sitting on the screen porch and heard a tree come down. We have storms coming tonight. Came down right on my well head and shattered it. More chainsaw work on the way. Luckily it only shatterednnthe cap and not the casing. Pump still works. The Gods smiled upon me again. We are indeed very lucky.

I assume you've put bag and fairing guards on now that you have new plastic?

Honestly, crumpled and scratched plastic is worse. I'd put Pusher Bars on the front of my Police Cruiser.

I rode it to work today! Been working from home but had to go into our local office for some training today. I decided to ride in. Dragged out the heated gear for the 30F ride. Sunny and clear skies, I actually enjoyed commuting for once. Training was good and the ride home afterwards was splendid at almost 60F.

Well I added or should say in the process of adding a PDM60 which I had laying around. Got it all wired up and just waiting for some LED driving lights from Amazon to arrive. I also added my heated liner wiring to the PDM60. Would anyone know what amps I should set the PDM60 to for the liner? I attempted to search but will little luck. Roads are still snow/icy here in Massachusetts. Woke up to 9 degrees F. It's supposed to warm up to 19F.
Thanks for any info on the liner setting.

My liner draws 7 amps at full load. I went with a 15 amp fuse, simply because I thought 10 might be cutting it a bit close.

Also, re: LED aux. lights, I decided for that circuit, I would not use a relay for the switch. The lights draw less than 1 amp each. I just bought a waterproof switch that was pretty stout (rated for 20 amps, I believe) on Amazon for $5, and I use the switch to break the hot wire. Can't remember if the PDM60 has the relay built in it or not, but my FUZE block is the bee's knees - you can choose on each circuit whether or not you want the ignition trigger relay by simply moving the fuse over.

My Warm and Safe jacket came with a 15 amp fuse installed in the connector. I wear Gerbing heated gloves that are powered through the same connector and the 15 amp fuse handles it all without a problem. Hard to tell for certain, but the wire gauge they use appears to be about 14 gauge, which is the appropriate size for 15 amps.
