It's been years since I wetted a line in Temagami..
Probably 1990 was the last time..
Lines sister has a camp on Temagami. I didn't get out there this summer. Dammit. Great fishing though. My BIL is a fishing nut. Last time we went, 3 lakers and a Walleye in less than 45 minutes. He's a great cook, he deep fried some for his kids, pan fried the walleye for us, while the rest of the lakers were in the oven doing a garlic bake. Like CRUSTED in garlic. I'm not a big fan of fish, but when he's cooking, I'll be at the table waiting. Whats funny, he asks me to do pan fry breaded pickeral with a cream dill/mushroom sauce. I'll cook for him if he cooks for me!
Anyway, Temagami is a HUGE lake. He'd pick us up at the boat launch and going 40mph in his boat takes close to an hour to get to his camp on the island.

You'll have to come up here sometime and I'll take you fishing on Lake Temagami.
Mmmm... FJRider meet-up fishing trip...?

So, meet up in Baton Rouge Louisiana, fish, eat, then ride and ride to Bungie's place, then fish and eat some more? Sounds like a plan. Only FJR riders would plan a meet up with 1600 miles between the two destinations!

Temagami is only 560km from my front door... I'm in.
Rode it about 325 miles and found lots of fall colors. The Aspen trees were stunning. A good day on the FJR and no gravel bobbles. Took lots of photos. Hope something turned out.

Stabil in the tank, topped up and fresh oil with filter. Put the girl to bed. There might still be a couple of days that I could ride, but no. Mower still on the tractor so the snow blower can still sit in the back of the garage for now. No more trips to Timmys until next year.

Saturday will the day for me. I may take it for a little scoot before, but with a day time high in the 40's....
Dragged her out for a lunch run. Figured I'd go ahead and top off the tank.
Got really depressed at the gas station. Since I don't ride to work anymore, and with my crazy work schedule in the evenings I've been valuing the small amount of family time I get on the weekends, and since I've been doing a bunch of travel for work, and since I've been trying to spread the love among the bikes in my garage, my fuel log book revealed that I haven't filled the old girl up in almost two months. Eeek!
Well, it wasn't long but I rode a few towns over for some street tacos. Yum. Was a good ride, she's always ready to go when I am. Love my bikes.

Washed it. I did a good job too - not a --G kinda wash job but good enough for me. Hell the FJR has 107k on it - how clean can you get such on old bike? Next up is to change the fork oil.

Gassed her up, stuffed a sleeping bag into one hardcase, and stuffed a shaving kit in the other. Blasting off in about 60 mins for SFO and the First Annual SFO Rally Rally. Traveling hyper-light. May also be traveling hyper-light (speed) on I-20 westbound once out of ATL metro.
