My friend, it's hot as hell, but do try and enjoy it. Be in the moment as much as you can allow yourself to be.
I am with you in spirit, and standing by my phone 24/7 in case you need.

I removed the built-in ramp on my trailer for the trip and will use foldable ramps instead. Then the question is stowing the ramps. So i bought some tie-downs and a cable lock. Drilled a hole for the cable to pass through. Then i mounted the license plate in a more permanent fashion with done loctite. Finally, i torqued the lug nuts down. Trailer is ready to go!
Bike is good to go.. just counting down the days..
T-7...

530 miles today to see my Daughter and her family. One minor traffic stop in Tiny Town GA, he asked where I was in a hurry to get to. When I said I was hauling ass to see my Grandkids he smiled and said slow down a little and have a nice day!

Rode it.
With the Redfishes.
Got to ride in formation with Pop.
The only way I could be happier is if I were continuing on with their trip.
Got up this morning to a monsoon coming through, saw that my son's soccer game was cancelled so I suited up including the rain suit and took off. Met the Two Wheeled Texan's for their monthly pie run. Low turnout due to the weather.
Then I ran an intercept course to meet the Redfishes on their annual trip.
Here's me doing my best Redfish smile. Redfish one ups me by actually smiling this time. He's a devious one.
Random shot of all the bikes.
Rode with them till they got to their hotel, then we had some mediocre BBQ at a chain restaurant. Then I rode home. Total of about 460 miles today.

Pie runs?! Wow...they are still going? I started the TWT pie runs WAY back in about 2005 with the Hico, TX Koffee Cup meet up! It warms my heart to know that first meet of about 70 in Jan is still going strong!

Oh yea, they are huge. Seen over a hundred turn out. Today the turnout was low...
Likely due to the weather system moving through this morning.
Last year at The Shed in Edom, same from today, it was in April and we filled the edge of the parking lot. Here's what I could get into the shot.

Dude - wasn't your "vacation" with Tiny enough?
This morning, the light wind was out of the northeast. It was still hot as hell, but maybe just a smidge drier. Kind of gave me hope. The end is most assuredly closer than the beginning. I glanced at my bike and the two headlights were staring back at me like a Philly with a little giddy-up in her hitch. I swear, it's like she knows. Like she realizes that it's almost time. Almost.
Hang in there, ole girl. Won't be long before we can pack your back and turn your reigns loose...

Installed Heli Bars and the AdMore Bar Light. I had installed 2 sets of Heli’s on Goldwings so had experience doing that work and had previously added the AdMore Bar on my Z900. Always easier doing the job a second time. On both bikes it’s all about re-routing the cables and wiring. On The FJR re-configuring the throttle cables is
the most difficult but not bad. I found the instructions to be tough to follow as they seem to be pre 2016. Did my best to get as much extra length on the cables as possible, installed the bars, then went back to zip tie it all up cleanly. Happy with the end result.
Installed the AdMore Light Bar above the license plate and was able to route the wires cleanly following the existing tail light wiring. Bought the Plug and Play Adaptor which makes it much easier to wire up under the left side cover. Hope this helps anyone interested in adding these great upgrades.

Rebuilt front forks with new bushings. Suspension now ready for EOM, mounting 2 new tires on the 15th and we'll be good to go.

I took the cover off ,unplugged the tender and moved it from the garage to the shop so somebody else can ride it for the Reuben Run. I've only had it out one other time this year. Always two up and the wing has more real estate for us full sized folks.

Got up early and joined a couple buddies for about 275 miles of local back roads. It was hot, but tolerable until about 10:30 this morning. Had a good burger at a one horse town and came home. Bike turned 56k miles this morning. Plenty life left in her, though.
