Took a 300 mile shake down run through hill country to Brownwood Tx today. 68 sunny degrees and a bit windy here and there, but it was an absolutely gorgeous day to be out.

On Sunday, removed the "winter" V-Stream windscreen and put the OEM on for the summer season...IMHO, the Gen III OEM screen has ideal airflow for the oppressive summers we have here.

On my '07, I finally got around to removing the FZ1 mirrors and put the OEMs back on. I planned to mount the FZ1's on my '15; however, I discovered (probably already well-known here) that the rear portion of the FZ1's base contacts the fairing, preventing the mirror from sitting tight on the mount. I didn't have anything suitable to use as a spacer and I didn't want to grind the mirror base, so I buttoned the '15 back up and called it a day. I'll revisit it later...I figure either some rubber mat material or washers will do fine.

Oh what a difference the OEM screen made on the ride in to work this morning...

There was a big brown box in front of my door when I got home from some Doofus Ugly Cajun. I should call him DUC. Anyway, there were some goodies inside. The FJR is quietly waiting because it appears Traxxion has a few week backlog of work (they told me this before I shipped) so it hasn't been ridden. Good news is that since it's all torn apart, it made the job of this little upgrade that much easier. There were some other goodies which will require their own thread at a later date.

Be Nice. That guy may be (okay Is Definitely) dumb, he may be ugly, and he may be from South Louisiana but he cannot be all bad. He does have some Awesome Friends.

Whether you choose to judge a man by his friends or by his enemies does not matter. The end result is the same.

In any case My Friends, I am looking forward to the return of the shock so that we can get an evaluation of the contents of that box.

I didn't say dumb. He is dumb in neither definition of the word. He talks...a lot. He's also pretty smart as the job he does requires smarts and somehow he snagged himself a good looking woman so he figured that one out. I did call him a Doofus, and really, let's be honest, he started the Doofus calling.

Well, the DUC rode the FJR to work today. The contrast between the BMW and the Yamaha is unbelievable. This evening I washed it, added a couple psi of air to the tires, snapped the Givi top case into place and packed the soft luggage.

Tomorrow I will be taking Pop for his first all day and overnight ride since he crashed. I am Nervously Optimistic.

Looks like he's throwing some of his oohrah mojo on the table. Kudos!

Riding to Orlando, to meet up with Vic. He wants to indoctrinate me to authentic Puerto Rican food. It better be worth it, for me to go into hated Orlando.

Wheatie, here is the address for Lechonera Latina - 9998 E Colonial Dr, Orlando. It's on the corner of Colonial and Dean rd. If you're staying at Mickey's place, get on 417 (toll road, but worth it.), and get off at the SR 50 exit (Colonial) and it's about a mile and a half east from there.

If you can avoid I-4, then avoid it! Otherwise, I-4N to SR 50, then drive east through endless redlights and massive traffic.

Btw, the selection of food is huge! You won't go away hungry, that's for sure.

Left the FJR sitting in the garage this weekend. Limbering up the TT convertible (and taking it in for many $$$$ of work) since the betrothed wants to leave the wedding in that.

My 2001 model has black seats (not the 'baseball leather' in this photo), full time four-wheel drive, 225 HP through a 6-gear stick, over 110,000 miles, and the same sexy grey paint job as my 2015 FJR.

Sorry. Me and Photobucket are fighting right now. Can't do a RR without pics.

I hate Photobucket.

Hud, that looks nice and I bet it drives nice too.

After 4 years of BMW ownership Mrs. Redfish and I had one of the worst arguments of our marriage. I can honestly say that I won an argument and I did so through sheer meanness and anger. I will not post my exact words here for fear of offending someone but there will never be another German car under my carport. Never.

Even she realized she had lost when she tearfully told me, "But when it runs it runs great!"
