Today was an endless parade of bikes and cars along the road in front of my place at Lake Erie, until the heat gave way to rain.
It was 6C and pouring a 150km north of there. Its still 6c and pouring. The spring that never was. This is April weather.
In Texas April flowers bring May showers.

Bad storms rolling through our general area today, OKC predicted baseball size hail as a possibility.

Rode it to work. Short week though as we're leaving for the New England states on Thursday afternoon.

He graduated from urgent care a couple days ago. Things seem to be going the right direction, or I would not have posted. https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q= ... SEARCH_BOX

This morning I removed the pinlock visor insert on the assumption that it will remain warm enough to no longer need it.

Opened the vents on my Shoei GT Air and it became immediately clear how much air the Air flows when the temperature is 45°.

Confirmed that at 45° I still needed the pinlock --or-- the vents on the helmet must be fully open. I needed to use the internal drop down dark sun visor too.

Rode it to work. Highway 495 was a clutch situation this morning. Bumper to bumper stop and occasionally go for a car length traffic for several miles which revealed that my clutch hand isn't in summer shape yet. A few more days like this and my left arm will make me start to look like a blacksmith.

It should be in the mid 60's with some sun for a pleasant ride home.

See what happens when you ride to work every day, have a wife who cooks like a banshee and spend your free time sipping wine in the Finger Lakes.

This. If you ever think your helmet doesn't flow any air when it hot out, open it up when its cold out.

I can always tell if one of my top vents on my Arai is open in the winter because of the quarter size frozen spot on top of my head.

Rode to work, rode home. Stopped on the way for allergy meds, this yr has been exceptionally brutal. Thank goodness I went modular or I think I'd have snot constantly running off my chin.

I always have my visor cracked open, no fogging unless I close it during a rainstorm.

I do that as much as possible but there are some exceptions:

a. as mentioned, heavy rain
b. extreme wind that has the air full of debris, a feller could shoot his eye out with some of that stuff, even with sun glasses on
c. days where my eyeballs would freeze solid in the late fall and early spring
d. following Fred W on some of his goat trails, mud/dirt/gravel roads, unimproved roads

This morning it was b.

Rode it to work again today. With my face shield down for part of the ride.

e. when following street sweepers

WTF? What was a street sweeper doing on a country road with no curbs? I passed it on a double yellow, it was worth the risk. If they want to sweep a meaningful road in the country, send the street sweeper to the top of Corliss Hill which has a cow barn on one side of the road and the manure pile on the other side of the road with cow byproducts slimed across the road. I paste that shit on my bike every day, twice a day when I ride to work.

Ionbeam,

Man, I would be inviting the Board of Health, zoning, EPA, Water Resources, Sewage Department and everybody I can name to that party. If nothing improves, take your complaint viral, and to the local TV stations (who may have a "troubleshooter" reporter for you). The very *least* they could do is to pipe the runoff under the roadway.

Rode to work... One nice thing about starting at 0700 is the light traffic.
I park the bike where it's view of a CCTV camera...
So now I spend the day keeping an eye on her and muttering to myself... "get the f@$k away from the bike" every time someone walks past it.
Of course... one guy just has to park his dirty BMW f800 right beside her...

Yep, rode to work again. But with face shield down, fjr touring screen up and heated grips on. 45 degrees. Hopefully cracks 70 for the ride home.
