I've had my PSR GP levers (that I moved from my 06) on my 16 from day one, without issue

Thought about it. Battery is still on the tender, in the basement.

Geez, and here it's almost getting to where you'd think it's too hot to ride.

Its warm enough some days to ride, roads have had the sand and salt washed off. Life is getting in the way. I may get it out on Sunday. Latest launch ever.gixxerjasen wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2019 11:07 pmGeez, and here it's almost getting to where you'd think it's too hot to ride.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Rode it to work. Been alternating between the FJR and the DR650 for the work commute. Working an unscheduled turnaround and the long hours and heavy workload are hitting me harder than when I was a younger man.
I almost took the truck this morning, felt too tired to put on my gear...and then I remembered that if I could ride the bike I would really feel a whole lot better. It's amazing how much good even a short ride in work traffic will do for you.

I hear ya on that. Life has been kicking me in the balls lately. Front end is off the FJR right now for steering head bearings that I can't seem to get the time to go in there and put it back together. Thank goodness for multiple bikes because I've still gotten a couple of rides to work in.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Walked past it again on my way to work. After an all time historic number of days with rain in April we started May yesterday morning with rain. I rode to work in the mid 30's and rain and rode home with heavy overcast and low 40's. This morning is low 40's with rain and going home will be rain in the low 40's so I opted for my car. Yesterday evening I made The Change and swapped my snow tires for summer tires. My car is so, so, so much better to drive now. Today I need to program the OEM TPMS. For a change, tomorrow morning's weather is supposed to be 30's with rain and the afternoon weather is supposed to be mid 40's with rain. I don't know if it's El Niño or Mother Nature that needs to be shot. @ Bungie, and John in SD, at least it isn't snow.

I feel your pain. Lots of rain last night, pretty foggy this morning and walked quickly past my bike to the car trying not to look directly at the headlights.ionbeam wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 9:47 am Walked past it again on my way to work. Don't ride it if it isn't fun and doesn't make you smile. If that means taking the car, then so be it. We don't have anything to prove to anyone. The bike is there to stir your soul, not prove a point.

Yeah but... Sometimes it's just so much fun to ride it to work in the rain and listen to my co-workers ask the Harley owners where their bike is today.gixxerjasen wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 1:25 pm Don't ride it if it isn't fun and doesn't make you smile. Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
There ya have it. That's my ride/drive decision point. Except for the year I didn't have a car and rode my bike the entire year, winter an all because I had no other choice. I'll suck up bad weather on one end of my commute as long as the other end compensates me for the inconvenience. My wife and I pulled out of our garage directly into the blinding, pounding rain of hurricane Florence and rode through the center of its track the whole first day and then through its storm damage all the way to EOM '18 because it was worth it.gixxerjasen wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 1:25 pm Don't ride it if it isn't fun and doesn't make you smile...
I'm fortunate that the performance gap between my FJR and my car is fairly small but there is no getting past the experience of riding through the countryside vs. driving through the countryside

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
As recently as last week a Harley riding coworker walked past my office on the way to the coffee pot and quips, "It wasn't that warm this morning!" It was 24° with a rising sun and it was going all the way to the mid 50s by the afternoonRedfish wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 1:39 pmYeah but... Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I didn't say don't ride in the rain, but ride if it makes you happy. Even if it's a strange devious happiness. I spent too much time trying to prove that I was hardcore and rode all the time only to realize that when it came to riding for fun, I'd often not go out because I had spent so much time on the bike. I spent some time re-evaluating myself as a rider. Now, I don't count my days ridden, or what I've ridden in, just whether or not there's a smile plastered across my face inside my helmet. Often, that happens even on the way to work but I don't force myself to do it. No shame in taking the truck to work, I did yesterday.Redfish wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 1:39 pmYeah but... Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I put Mrs. Lumberg’s floorboards on. She really likes them. Pulled the wynpro Bigfoot off, cleaned it and bought new screws and washers, as I’d ground parts of the leading ones off on the earth, and they were fairly worn overall (imagine a wynpro Bigfoot coming off on the highway. Bad juju for anyone behind you). I’m running stiffer settings in the jungle now, so we’ll see if it drags again. If so, it’ll go in the parts closet.
