When is your departure date? And your route to/from doesn't take you through Louisiana does it?

I bet all of that is actually in your thread. I should have Done A Search.

Dammit.
Lol, RFH!

Actually, I need to update that thread.

Took it for a nice little 175 mile ride, to test the new Spot tracker.

I just ignored mine.

But I installed a HeliBar Bridge on Dad's. Then I rode it out of his shop and around his yard.

Then HE rode it around his yard! We did not get on the road with it but this is a HUGE step forward.

Wrestled her to the pavement on her left side at zero mph in the middle of the northside interchange between I-75 and I-285.

Scraped up the crankcase (isn't that the metal thing that says Yamaha?) but no other damage to me or the bike. Mirror is fine.

This interchange is on my everyday route to work. For those of us on I-285 EB who want to go south into downtown, we enter in the outside lane of I-285, but have to completely cross one lane to get into the correct lane for I-75 SB. Today, the lane I have to cross was full of stopped cars far ahead and far behind the short area where I can do my "weaving" maneuver. ("Weaving" is a technical term for multiple or conflicting freeway lane changes; I am not kidding.)

Found a small gap between vehicles, turn signal was signalling, and I was looking over my right shoulder for a gap into the correct lane. Looked up and saw a small green car dart in front of me. Grabbed a handful of front brake (MISTAKE) and tried to keep her standing as she slowly sank to the pavement.

Grunted hard while trying to pick her up three times. Nice guy in the van directly ahead helped, or I would still be there grunting.

I put on the shield, I bought from fellow inmate kieefjr, this morning. It looks great, and I think it'll help with wind noise, as it's a little taller than stock. I'll find out on our trip. Thanks again, Keith!

Rode 2 up to school for the 2nd day in a row.

Wonder how cool my 6th grader thinks he is rolling into the school on the FJR?

It takes longer to gear us both up for the .9 mile commute than it would be to drive there in the truck. Yeah that says .9, as is less than a mile.

Guaranteed he thinks it's cool. Grade 6 me used to get a ride to school on the back of my brothers bikes (BSA, Honda) often. I used to love walking into school and asking the office to store my helmet for me (wouldn't fit in the locker). Everybody would notice that. I wasn't one of the REALLY cool kids who rode their own motorcycles to school until I was 16 and had my license.

(Don't tell anybody, but I used to take my bike to school on the backroads even before I had my lic).

His helmet and gloves go in the side case. Jacket gets stored with my jacket and helmet in my closet at school. We do get here before any of the kids really get to school though. So most of them prob do not even know, but he thinks they do.
