Ya, but think of all the sleep I've missed, and the productive shit I could've done with the thousands of hours I've spent on the FJR forums.

Reading, writing, and thread-shitting, how is that not productive? :D

As much forum posts as I have read, it would make WAR & Peace look like a travel leaflet.

Somehow overlooked this thread all this time. So Wheatie your first bike was a 1977 Honda CB550F? I have its little brother in my garage right now a 1977 CB400F! I even managed to gather up the original sales literature that featured both of those models. Great little bike a loads of fun to ride.

Wow, you all are young. I worked at a Yamaha dealership in 1990 and would take a used FJR 1200 out for lunch and said I will own one someday. Several motorcycles later in 2016 I am finally a owner . Love it ! My peg dragging days are behind me and I can enjoy the FJR for its fullest potential.

Don't post much anymore but this thread interested me.

My brother bought a Honda 90. Which got me interested in Bikes. Got my motorcycle licence before my car licence .(1968) My first motorcycle was a used 1974 Honda 550 -4 Sold that to my then brother in law for his first motorcycle. (Yes I got him hooked) In 1977 after reading about the XS750 and hearing rumours about them thinking about adding another cylinder to the triple I had to buy one. Rode the XS11 standard until kids got in the pictures. Then separation. Back on my feet, I Bought a 2004 FJR in the fall of 2003. Test rode the ST1300 several times before but not the FJR. The dealer I bought the FJR from has never ever seen the bike since. I discovered an excellent shop that does a lot of my work. 19 or so years later and 300,000 kilometers I am happy with the roads I have travelled and the people I have met. Very sad in those years of the friends I have lost along the way! I do need to get out more and ride more.

Might as well add to the memories......
Well over 40 years ago I asked my grandmother for a loan to buy my second motorcycle, an RZ500 because the first bike, an 750 Honda Saber was to big for me to handle !
That lady sent me down a path of wonderful memories that include a few FJ1200's, FJR1300,s and on to a Wing.
I have meet many interesting people (characters) on those journeys and still do with each meet I encourage my wife to go too....
Never rode with a group larger than 3 until that first meet in Huntsville back in 2004 I think....
We will continue to ride until the wheels fall off....
I still remember the day my mother said...."If you bring home a motorcycle you will have to find somewhere else to live ! "
Her mother took me in until the silent treatment wore off.....
