Thanks Joe, Mark and everybody.

The bike just needs a muffler and then you will have to look hard to tell that my drain plug has played sundial.

The trailer/crash/repair story has a couple mildly interesting turns:

Augustish I found the trailer on CL near Mt Airy NC-beautiful country, just a little south of Wytheville EOM. It’s a 1994 model. The seller said it was Gold Wing Wineberry Red. When I saw how close the color was to Black Cherry it was very hard to play it cool through the haggling process. The trailer fit nicely in the back of the minivan.

I looked and posted WTB for a used hitch with no luck. I finally called Bushtec to see if they had one. They said yes BUT the hitch was one color and the support bars were another. I got a mismatch discount :D .

And then EOM ends with the insurance co declaring the bike a total loss. It would be a good time to upgrade to a bike a few years newer but I have to have Black Cherry! It matches my trailer.

So I explore options to fix the 07, including sending parts to Garauld. I check with a high school buddy that can do some really cool custom paint and body stuff behind his house. Problem is he charges really cool custom prices even for the mundane stuff like a little crash repair. But he needs some tractor work done. So I buy a couple parts new (Rocky Mtn ATV), trade tractor work for fixing the big parts, and now all I need is a muffler (working on that now).

Two up camping trips in the near future!!!!!!

Glad to hear it all worked out, Duane...sounds like you made out pretty well, in the end. And looks like you also got some new gear.

That Black Cherry color is wonderful and can make all the difference to the right owner. When Dad "almost" totaled his '07 in 2008 the dealership did everything they could to keep it from being totaled. The insurance wanted to total it but Dad really wanted that Black Cherry color. It all worked out.

And waaaaay back in 1984 we had an '84 Wineberry Red GoldWing Interstate. The colors are very close.

I had a Wineberry 82, a custom blue (dark) 84, and a black 98se.

Dark colors show every imperfection while the fast ones only show the imperfections of the operator.
