Today, rode it to work. Day 428.
Yesterday took Dianne and a coworker to a classic European Motorcycle show in Clarksburg, MD but failed to take any pics. Left there and headed to Harpers Ferry, WV and then on to Shepardstown, WV for a little history lesson and 3 more pressed pennies for our IBA Penny Challenge, We now have 34 pressed pennies form 7 states. Only 66 more pennies and 13 states needed. Looks like we're heading to the New England states this weekend!

Today is the last day of the May 2-4 (ask any Canadian), its sunny, gonna be about 75F. Today, I ride.

This one is worth the stop. Better than the more popular and larger Bighorn Battlefield. Big Hole is more intimate easier to appreciate. It is easy to burn a couple of hours here.

Well, we know that he is enjoying retirement spectacularly. He may also be doing some recon. What he is showing us is awesome for sure. The only problem is the disconnect between the fact that you and I are not retired. Is Jim really our friend??? Because if he keeps showing all these amazing places we are going to get fired for being gone and my wife is gonna divorce me for the same reason. Maybe Jim is a bad influence on us.fontanaman wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 9:33 amThis one is worth the stop. Better than the more popular and larger Bighorn Battlefield. Then again, I guess the whole board is pretty much the same kind of people. Guess that's why we love them so much.
Jim, You are a bad influence on us, ...........and I like it. Keep them images, ideas, and adventure coming.

Josh has blown my cover. Today is go home day but we will hit some great local twisty roads. - - G has work on Tuesday and my bride is at home. I have a ride idea for the first week in June.
OH what ever you do do not ride Idaho State Hwy 62. It turns to gravel. Guess who picked that road much to - - G's amusement as he was on a S10,

As soon as they went out the door I sent the daughter a text. “Wanna go for a quick blast?” 30 seconds later, she is in the garage ready to go.
We went no where particular. But at some point she started asking me about the “Canada trip”. Where were we goIng, who was traveling together, camping destinations, national parks and other sites on the intenery.
And then she dropped this. “When are you gonna take me out west?” Well, we spend the next hour or so throwing out some ideas. It got dark and my phone rang in my helmet interrupting our pipe dreams. It was time to do graduation cake. Whoops, we hightailed it home.
Gonna be reviewing some threads about two-up camping and no trailer. Prob will take the bike out West in the back of the truck and launch from somewhere within striking distance of Red Lodge, Yellowstone, and the Tetons. I gotta think that would immediately surpass her expectations.
Parking spot available here. If your daughter is as well behaved as your son we will let her sleep inside, you can pitch a tent in the lawn!
LOL. Back yard is a little steep! Your oasis came to mind when I was thinking about this for sure!
Gotta figure a way to camp off the bike with no trailer. 2 up. I tried to convince her about staying in hotels, but she was not having that. She thinks part of the adventure is all about camping.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
So my ride with --G ended today.
After we went our seperate ways I clicked the music on the first time in 4 days to enjoy some great classic rock Stealin' by Uriah Heap, some Bachman Turner Overdrive and The Allman Brothers. The scenery was pretty good today too.

It was a grand day but
The song is over,
We were searchin' for a note, pure and easy
Riding so free, like a breath rippling by
Enjoy the your rides. Time is fleeting.

I find myself green with envy when I see that pic of George and Fontanaman. I have never had the privilege of meeting Fontanaman but I have had the honor of meeting and riding with George. Those two gentlemen would be worth A Trip NorthWest.
What did I do to my FJR? I rode the damn thing to work. Again. Just like I always do. That's the only place it goes nowadays, to work and back home.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Did nothing to it. Left it sitting in the garage all dirty from the "off roading" we did ON the roads we were on last weekend...as some of the soil refused to stay where it belonged.
I'll inspect it and wipe it down later this week.

The job was easier than I expected, the plastics came off and went back pretty easily. No bolts & bits left over either

I did that to my '15 because a friend sent a set to me as a gift. I was skeptical but they helped more than I would have hoped.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Helped a guy I met at Hooterville last fall who is on his way to Alaska and NWT on his Triumph 1050.
Changed some tires, tightened a few bolts and nuts.
Then led him to the Stoneville Saloon aboard the Gray Ghost. Nice day for a little 150-mile jaunt through SD, WY, and MT.
Still have "Sheep's Assholes" in a can at the Stoneville Saloon, Alzada MT. The Tiger Woman is still behind the bar.
The Cheeseburgers are still great.
Best road within 100 miles is still from Alzada MT to Hulett WY, 40 miles, two cars, lots of sweepers!
