Just a screen grab from my video. I rode in today before the fronts started moving through. I'd planned on leaving at lunch time and work from home as I have to pick my kid up after school but this storm lingered a few hours longer than it was supposed to. At 2pm the severe stuff had moved on out so it was just light rain, but apparently the severe stuff was just ahead to my right.

Rode it to work today.
Being from Washington State on the west side weather like this is very unusual. This means I think you are nuts for riding around in shit like this. This sentiment is more likely a comment on my lack of [fill in your own description here].

I thought in Washington State if you don't ride in the rain, you don't ride? Or is it the lightning? I did learn to ride in Florida, but I still don't like riding in thunderstorms, this was the only bolt I saw the entire ride home.

I'd hate to ride in a Florida thunderstorm.
Some years back I was in Orlando on business. Was sitting in a car in a car park, nose in to some railings, basically waiting for the rain to ease so that the wipers could do something useful. Lightning struck the railings right in front of me. Extremely loud crack, a
real clap of thunder. I'm not sure whether the sizzling sound that followed was water vaporising or just my ears reacting to the assault.
A lonely biker on an open road would make an excellent lightning target ...

Florida thunderstorms aren't too terribly bad. Here in Texas it's worse. Everything is so spread out that you usually are the tallest thing around. Also, Texas thunderstorms often bring hail, and occasionally tornadoes. Not to say you don't get those in Florida, but they aren't usually in your daily afternoon thunderstorm.

Having worked out of a boat in South Florida, cleaning the underside of boats, with a crazy boss, I am immune to lightning. Cleaning the "grounding plate" of a sailboat with a 40 foot aluminum mast in a thunderstorm is so stupid that you have to just become stupid to do it. It's like war, after a while you either become "shell shocked" or you become stupid. I became stupid, so now I just don't worry about it. NOW, I worry about the two tree's next to my house blowing down in the thunderstorm, but not the lightning. SIGH Stupid is as stupid does. LOL

I used to ride in the rain but galvanic corrosion and calcium chloride take a terrible toll on a motorcycle. Riding in thunder and lighting would scare the hell of of me.

First day hot enough to use the mesh riding jacket, move the side air thingy's back in, and remind myself to install the stock windshield.
Went on a Patriot Guard mission to Columbia, SC yesterday, after the funeral went to see the traveling Vietnam memorial, and shed a few tears.
Got some gas and complained that the gas is up 30 cents per gallon in a month and then noticed that they had No Ethanol gas for 30 cents more a gallon so I filled up with it.
When I got home I noticed that I was getting 3-4 more miles a gallon than the last few trips and AlMOST fell for it. Then I realized it's a hot day, the barn door windsheild is now DOWN, the air is warm, ETC ETC. Still???

I may or may not have scraped a peg. Im sure it was a combination of Crappy lane position, misjudged corner entry speed, wrong line, missed apex and piss poor throttle control...

Good choice. I'm quite disappointed in the 30k coming from a perfectly working SMH10.

Today is Saturday, but my son had to go to school. They are preparing for the end of the year standardized testing and had a three hour tutoring session for a lot of the kids having difficulties. So my son was there and they were trying to make it a special fun morning for them. I elected to make it a little more special by picking him up at school in front of his teacher and friends with the FJR. The school is in the neighborhood so he got a little ride around and had fun. I'm on the hunt for an XS mesh jacket so I can get him out of the neighborhood now, but today was fun and he was happy and excited.

Pulled mine out of the garage to make room for moving old washer dryer out and new(er) washer dryer in.
My old dryer caught fire Saturday. Damn thing was built some time in the 80s and is already worn out. I guess I need a Yamaha washer dryer set. Would last forever and clothes would be done much faster with 146 bhp!
