Been is Spokane a week now. Life it good but then again I have led a charmed life. Yesterday I got the garage organized. Inserted both cars, the FJR along with the Bushtec trailer, a generator, mower, walk behind sidewalk edger, power washer, air compressor, No Mar tire changer, two bicycles and 3 sets of golf clubs. It all fits with room for another motorcycle - hummmmm.

Today I am creating a route for a my first ride as a resident of Spokane. I just may go for a ride today.

This image came my way today via email from Idaho Commerce and Tour Development.

Nice - now I have to plan another trip too. Love inspirational images like this. By the way this is called Redfish Lake near Stanley Idaho. Come early before the crowds arrive. Maybe in a week or two or three.

It does not suck to be me. I worked 38 years at Boeing as a non-managerial white collar worker. I worked hard. My wife says we deserved the life we have. I correct her each time. We earned it. The lucky part is I am in pretty good shape health wise. No cancer, no heart trouble no life altering health issues, yet. So with blue sky here today it is time to go play and enjoy every wonderful day I am given.

Flushed brake and hydraulic clutch systems using Mity-Vac. Old ( April 2016) looked really good, flushed with new Dot 4 anyways. Then went for a quick afternoon ride on a perfect weather afternoon. What a great machine! Next project, new PR2's front and rear.

I dunno about you guys doing mods and maintenance a couple days before a trip. Talk about begging for a no show.

I was at Redfish lake once before about 12 years ago. It quite possibly was the most beautiful water I had ever seen. I only was able to stay a few min, but have always wanted to go back. That was on my list nearly from the onset of this. Hopefully it comes to fruition.

Rode to work early to avoid traffic. Turns out there is a car accident. Ended up taking the same amount of time. 45 minutes to travel 6 miles. Chicago sucks

Amen Brother!! My rule is two weeks minimum between any kind of maintenance, even tire replacement, and a trip.

Hell yeah!! One thing goes wrong and a part is back ordered and the bike is a paperweight for a week. My luck, the part would show on the day I should have returned. This comes from: Years ago, we were driving to Mexico City to see my dad's family. He had the oil changed, the car turned up and the brakes done. Well, they FUBAR'd the brakes and we didn't find out until about half-way to Mexico City. Luckily, they worked well enough to get us there, where he had to have someone redo the brakes. Probably a good thing it was a Buick and GM cars were popular in Mexico. After that, he did everything a month out.

Yup. Last weekend I swapped tires on my managers bike, he's heading to the dragon in about a week. Wouldn't you know it, previous owner rounded out the pinch bolt on the front axle. I managed to get it out but I sure as hell was not gonna put it back in. Dealer had to order. 5 day delivery time! Close, very close, plus he booked his stays nonrefundable!

Looks like lightning was going to strike your clutch lever.

Lucky you. Outsmarted it! Image
