Broke the negative battery cable end off. Cobbled up a replacement the best I could.
Covered up the evidence with rubber tape.

If you know what this means then you know.

It was warm enough to flip over after about 30 min.

My garage is small, but it has what it needs to work on bikes. This was the first experience with the new to me No Mar. It took me some time to figure out where the blocks needed to be to fit the rim. The bead breaker worked okay. I should have warmed up the old tire first.

In case you wondered what I put on. Yes I took the sticker off before I balanced it. It took 1.25oz to balance.

I had 5,200 miles on the RS3. I’m certain it had another 1K but that wouldn’t be enough for the 1st real ride of the season.

I am riding to Atlanta on June 5th for a work conference June 6th-7th. After that I am gonna get lost in north Georgia and take the long way home. I will start a separate thread for that adventure. Maybe I can meet up with some of you delinquents for a day ride or two. I will have my camping gear cause you never know where the adventure might lead.

What's up with that bolt placement? Something doesn't look right there, do you own a tape measure? :stickpoke:

If you don't mind, which bulbs did you have, and what are the replacements? Curious minds doncha know.

Did you know the FJR times out after idling 20 minutes? I'm pretty sure you can't have a conversation with FJRPittsburgh for less than half hour or so.... I never seem to be able to, lol. So your key was left on for a while....... probably that old battery was ready to go anyway.

My 17ES has the original battery. I have a Clearwater Voltage sentry to monitor charging. It is connect to a battery tender 24/7.

I washed the bugs of my FJR today after completing a 4 day ride.

Good eye.

I had a harbor freight changer before and drilled those holes. No matter how I tried to line up 2 holes on the No Mar, I couldn’t. Hence the redneck version you see! The plan is to get a bigger mounting plate and place it under the existing one. I don’t want to drill new holes in the floor. Those anchors are solid.

My 15ES still has the original after 83K miles. It is due to be replaced for sure. It has gotten slower cranking. BigJohn noticed last year it was not putting out full voltage down at Toters.

Both sets bought off Amazon. Original set were Katana? I think. Replacements are Auxito like I installed in the 2013 FJR when I bought it.

I checked later, we were like 13 min. on phone. Possibly timed out, or fan kicking on at idle with low battery caused it to die. Plugs in, helmet on, talking on phone, never noticed when it died. Pretty sad. I guess I couldn't hear a dump truck going through a nitroglycerin plant!🤣

Had enough of not exercising the FJR. Despite rain, road it to work. Rain or shine I'm riding when I report to the office. I have a set of new Road 6 that are waiting from 2023 that need put on.

Rode it to work this morning. Stopped on my way home for annual PA inspection, which of course it passed.

This is what I get for deciding I want to get a better understanding of suspension.

Scooter, I hope you have some good laughs at this!

Looking at these photos reminded me of the song Shattered by the Rolling Stones with a couple of updates. :D

While washing the FJR yesterday, I had the front wheel off the ground to make it easier to turn and clean. I noticed a ticking noise while rotating the tire. I'm guessing I have a bad wheel bearing. I didn't pull the axle to check. The 2013 bike has over 75,000 miles and it wouldn't hurt to replace the front wheel bearings anyway. New front tire and bearings and seals ordered. They'll be in sometime next week. I could use a little motorcycle project anyway.

Replace it. Save yourself some future aggravation.
