Trust me, few will be able to put the FJR on centerstand with more than a 3/4" board under the centerstand. The step in my back patio is 3-1/2", a 2x4 when the concrete was poured. I have a set of ramps made of (2) 2x8s on top of each other which was essential to holding the rear wheel on same level as the front and centerstand to get the bike up. Then the ramp was removed.
So if you put a board under the centerstand it is probably a good idea to put others under at least one wheel or both.
This is an older picture of a friend's GL1800 in my driveway using the 2x8 ramps to remove it's wheels. Had one under the front, one under the rear, a 3rd crossways under the centerstand. Four ramps were used. Was rather pleased with myself how the four could be laid out to easily roll the motorcycle on to. I think one ramp was used upside down half overlapping another for the front.

To get the rear wheel off, just lay it down on it's right side on the lawn with a nice moving blankie under it....... done that a coupla times. Or have a lift with a drop tail.

Yesterday I scrubbed the new tire in riding 80 miles on a little local ride. No photos.
Today I road the FJR about 225 miles to the north of Spokane where the pavement is a bit better than the roads in the farm lands to the south. Stopped at Chewelah Golf Course for lunch were I enjoyed this triple decker club sandwich. I was so stuffed I didn't have dinner.
After settling in at home after a good days ride I read the weekly North Cascades Hwy snow clearing email where I found this amazing photo with Liberty Bell Mt in the background.

Not did to my FJR, but don't want to start a whole new thread.
When I got my brake switch recall done, the mechanic reached under the headlights (like down by the fender) and said he could reach in there and switch out my headlight bulbs in 20 minutes. Is that possible? I thought it was a huge pain in the arse process?

Yes you can. It's done by feel.... so at first, you have to know how the rubber boots come off, how the wire bail works..... me, I do it from the top so I can see a little bit... but there isn't a lot of room, so you end up doing it by feel. It's a PITA no matter which way you do it.

Left headlight is pretty easy. Right hate headlight is much more difficult as there's some interference of stuff behind it to get your hand in there.

Seems that I leave a bit of skin from the backs of my hands in there every time I change a bulb (thankfully not often). XXL glove size hands not made for working in confined spaces. Easier for me to approach from the bottom. A thin smear of dielectric grease on the (cleaned) rubber boot will make future removal and replacement easier. Don't get any on the halogen bulb!

ON the right side, Gen3, you have to slide the relay off the mount and get it out of the way a bit.

Oh, and just so you know........ The H4 bulb can pass through and fall into the interior of the headlight cluster. Don't ask me how I f@$king know! 21.5 years of FJR ownership and over 700k miles on FJRs I have replaced *I don't even know how many* burned out headlights. How I managed to let one pass through to the interior of the cluster I have no idea. Of course it was the pita right side. Took a couple hours with one of the magnet sticks and pure luck to get that fucker out of there. I did not want to have to disassemble the entire front end to remove the headlight assembly.
So..... lets be careful out there! Don't gixxerjasen your headlight bulbs!

Yep it is done by feel and I feel for those who have to replace FJR a headlamp pre LED.
