…you would be correct, that’s why I went to Nova Scotia in late August last year - I had only one day of +6c temps with rain and thick fog.

Beemerdons would be shaking his head and blasphemin' about your trip in the snow and cold whilst posting pictures of himself with sunglasses on and his beer belly floating in some pool sipping an adult beverage. Just sayin and enuf said!
Lol...enjoy your trip into the great white north!

Fontanaman is shaking his head, but no blasphemin' about the trip but marveling in the perseverance. I'd of said F'it along time ago and return at a later date. I can dig the pool part tho.

Re: Cape North - across Canada 2025
Sunday May 25th - Despite the WEAX challenges it has been a great adventure so far. If all went well and according to plan, what would we have to talk about?
Today another ~360 miler - Riviere-du-Loup to Gaspe. Our original plan was QC 132 the entire way but Scott found some Butler Roads that begged to be ridden so we deviated from the plan and rode them before joining QC 132 for the remainder of our days journey.

As previously reported it was chilly when we left, 42f on JREW's FJR..........
The Butler roads were good not great, we had a Jetta as a Rabbit for the last 60k and the pace and fun factor increased substantially.
When we reached 132 the tide was coming in. It was interesting to note the turbidity of the water, likely due to all of the runoff.

The further we rode East the bluer the waters became. The smell of the sea was intoxicating.

There were many waterfalls along the highway some coming directly out of sheer rock walls.

There was some fog and low cloud but the WEAX generally improved, less wind and a steady 46f for most of the day, a few patches of sunchine and dry roads for the most part. We stopped in Matane at Timmy's for coffee and chili then pressed on.
Soon we approached Cap-de-Rossiers, our Northmost point in the journey

And soon were there

A kind Nova Scotian woman took our picture for us

We rode across the bay and stopped briefly at Forillon National Park to take in the views from Cap-Bon-Ami

Phare de Cap Gaspe (you can't ride there)

Looking back to Cap-de-Rossiers from Cap-Bon-Ami
It was a short ride to our motel in Gaspe where we arrived to a nice warm room.
We splurged (+$11) for the "Ocean View Suite"

Dinner in town and Scott and John are now planning the routes for our next few days adventures.
We plan on a later start in the morning -

Stay tuned.

Re: Cape North - across Canada 2025
Monday 26 May 2025 - Gaspe to Bouctouche NB 10 hours, 472 MILES!

We left Gaspe at 0800 in brilliant sunshine. Scott and JREW had spotted some Red and Yellow Butler roads that needed to be ridden so we headed back North a ways to ride them.

We ended up back on 322, treversing yesterdays route for a ways with the St Lawrence now on our right.
The wind was blowing but the temperature in the mid-50s F was much more pleasant than the day before.
We then rode QC 299. It turned out that QC 299 was one of, if not the best road of the trip. This may have had something to do with the "Rabbit" we had running in front of us for a good portion of the run. We had a close encounter with a moose, Scott spotted one about to cross in front of us while we were running 100k plus, we all got safely stopped in time to watch the young moose scamper across in front of us.

While riding through Kouchibougac National Park on NB 117 we spotted a very young Black Bear eating fresh grass shoots alongside the road. Total wildlife sightings for the day - 1 Moose, 1 Bear, 1 Rabbit - all live, a few dead squirels and a momoth dead porcupine.
We advanced to Atlantic Daylight Time when we entered New Brunswick. Of note, the New Brunswick roads a generally much better than Quebecs!
Tomorrow we will likely ride to Prince Edward Island (PEI) take the bridge onto the island and the ferry back to the mainland. Tomorrow evening, somewhere short of the Cabot Trail, our Wednesday objective.
Stay tuned
