I'm most likely driving the truck to the IMS here in Dallas. Gotta pick up some stuff and may or may not have the family with me.

I took one look at my bike and told her to stay quiet for a week.

Tomorrow I'm flying to South Dakota to meet Poolboy and do some snowmobiling. Hell yeah, I'm stoked solid!!!

Here's what I did to my FJR "today". It's been a long, slow process. Now that the engine is out, gotta swap some parts from old engine over to "new" one.ImageImageImage

New front tire arrived this week, finally the correct one. Mounted it up last night. Taking the GSX-S for a spin on this beautiful afternoon while the FJR awaits commuter duties for this week.

Took the kiddo for a ride on the GSX-S around the neighborhood because he's been begging for a ride. First and last pillion ride for this bike, as the footpegs came right off afterwards.

When I got home I decided to haul both street bikes out for a photo op.

Rode it to work this morning. Brisk 30 degrees out but clear and dry roads. Day 316 consecutive. Might have to go out at midnight for my Tuesday ride, forecast is calling for some snow. Will keep an eye on the weather later tonight.

Bought a new Shoei Neotec helmet and got $110 off on close out ($550). I have wanted this helmet for a long time and never saw an affordable price. Nothing fancy in Black, but it fits well. Installed the Sena 20.Now I can finally talk at gas stops. First new helmet since 2011, so in spite of cleaning, the old one (a better looking Shoei RF1100) was getting salty and was not as comfortable.

ImageWell it was Saturday night, but I was very impressed with my accomplishment. Getting my “side” of the garage squared away. Not easy to get a Ridgeline, FJR, KLX and all that other crap!

Got all suited up this morning to ride to work. Rolled off the centerstand to a "Puh" sound. Check the front tire I just mounted. It's soft. Flat. Crap. Take off all my riding gear and hop in the truck and head to work. Got home this evening and dragged the tire changer out, mounted it, then proceeded to tear apart the front of the bike and get the front wheel off. I put the wheel up on the changer and go mix up some soapy water while the compressor airs up. Likely some bit of junk got between the bead and the rim and is leaking. I fill the tire up to 50psi and just as I'm about to pour the water around the edge I get a thought. I dip my finger in the water and then press it against the 90 degree valve stem I installed. Pffft Pffft Pffft. I can feel it pushing against my finger. Sigh. Swap out the core, fill it back up and all is good. Check the rim anyway and no bubbles. So really, I could have left the tire changer put away and not removed the wheel but oh well, hopefully all good now.

Ambitious effort to remount a tire for a loose valve core!

That's a tight fit for the Ridgeline, both sides and top!
I like the "sox" protection on the mirror.

Indeed. I should have checked that BEFORE I did all of that.

Only way to make sure no damage to the mirrors. The FZ1 mirrors on the 04 were better at folding all the way out of the path. The only way it works is because of the window provides a little recess for the faring, frame slider, and mirror to fit in.

Did my best Paul Revere impression and did a midnight ride. Expecting snow starting around 4am. Day 317 is complete. Keeping the streak alive!

Put on my new, double modified, BigFoot. Now I’m ready for that Flatistan sand.

A big shoutout to Dave, at WynPro, for a great product and for getting it to me expeditiously. Thanks, Dave!

Tires held air, rode it to work, even though it was 29F out.

I didn’t think about my fjr at all for the last 4 days. Been having too much fun in the snow with the sleds

These guys have taken great care if me. This was an experience I will never forget. I got some great pictures and will put together a ride report when I get home.

They are calling me the Cajun Yeti. Yeah boyz!!!

Pants, you didn't freeze?

Oh right, your blood was probably full of antifreeze from the shampoo bottle. :D
