Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Got paid to ride to a customer site in West Virginia. Diagnosed a transmitter issue into the Burner Management System then rode home. Wish I could find a way to get paid to ride my FJR everyday.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Sat down, opened rockymountainatvmc.com. Opened discounttire.com. Looked at round rubber things that vehicles require to move around. The truck won, so I went and got new tars put on. FJR will wait till next paycheck. Won't matter, I'm out of town in training for most of the next two weeks anyway. Also, it's too hot to be messing with tire changing machines for no good reason.

Purchased speedbleeders and 90 degree valve stems. Will purchase GPS trackball mount and mount accessories soon so I can have confirmation that Jason is taking me to help with him.

How'd it get there? I'd say that's where the talent came into play.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Saturday I did something I rarely do and generally avoid, I took part in a group ride. Near the end of June, a friend, former coworker, and former boss of mine died unexpectedly at the age of 58. Steve was getting ready to leave for work when he just collapsed suddenly and was gone. I'd known Steve since 1981. We'd worked together, hung out occasionally, and more recently following my being laid off from a job he'd contacted me and offered me a job to return to my old employer. Steve got into motorcycles later in life than most of us. He bought a Honda VTX1300 from a mutual friend and took the MSF course to get his license. He put in some miles then traded for a HD Road King for more comfort for he and his wife Lori. About 2 or 3 years ago he went through a patch of health scares including a non cancerous brain tumor which affected his balance. Twice he dropped his Harley and he became concerned about what would happen if they were riding 2 up. Last summer he traded it in for a Can Am Spyder and he and Lori began riding even more.
They'd just returned from a week in Gatinburg with some other riders the week before Steve died. Lori showed me some pictures and she has video with his voice on it. 4 flags were made up for the memorial ride and all of the participants signed each flag. 2 will go to Steve's 2 daughters who were along as passengers of some of the riders. One flag is for Lori, his widow. The final flag will be passed among some of the friends so Steve will still ride with some of us. 24 motorcycles and several cars left our old employers parking lot Saturday morning to celebrate a well lived life that ended too soon. Our former company vice president and his wife drove more than 2 hours from VA to meet up and have lunch with us.
I hate riding with a group this size. I cherished every minute of this one.

I treated the bike to a nice 400 mile twisty therapy session in SEO yesterday, it really needed that, and so did I.

Rode it to work. Found a used relay arm on Ebay and bought it. Figure it'll be easier going through that and prepping it so I can just swap it out.
