Noticed one of the trim/cover pieces on the windshield was loose...
Looks like the tab where the bolt holds it in place has snapped... WTF?
Oh well... I knew I packed a roll of duct tape for a reason.
I'll try to JB weld a repair when I get home...
A new one costs $130.... another WTF?

I’ve had two on the ‘18 break. Never had one break on the ‘14. Partspak was fairly cheap.

Renewed the insurance today. Progressive, full coverage with $1,000 deductible, 250/500/100, $5K in accessory coverage. $407.00 for the annual premium. Not bad....

Ordered new tires yesterday. Might be taking one last ride with Regs to color in North Dakota this weekend. Maybe see if that old fireman is gonna be around!

Cav47 wrote: Sat Jul 27, 2019 3:30 pm Was tired of the front end wobble I was getting over 75ish from a crappy balancing job by my local guy who mostly does Harley tires. He is cheap, but as usual, you get what you pay for.

So I got into my stash of Balancing Beads and dropped 1.5 Oz in there. The tire is still in good shape, I want to see if this clears it up or not. If it does, great, if it doesn’t, then I will know I need to buy a balanced. Will report back with results later.

The vibration is reduced after testing today. NOT ELIMINATED like I hoped. Definitely less, but not gone. Well this gives me a great reason to buy a balancer. Prob should start looking for a tire changer too. With 2 bikes and soon to be needing 4 tires changed, I would start off well by taking 80 bucks off whatever I buy (in savings from my local guy).

Took off the weights that were left after a power washing. The original balancing job was suspect anyway. I ran it up to 85 and nary a shimmy that I could tell.

The beads that I put in there seem to have smooth out the vibration well enough. We shall see on the ride to Des Moines if all is well!

Oh, and by the way, I ordered tires from Rocky Mountain ATV at 8:12 on Tuesday. They showed up today by 10:00. “Shinko Verge 2X” for $214 delivered. Sweet. I have not run the Verge 2X yet but will see. Mileage report on the current tire is gonna be close to 7K when I get to Regs Friday.

I overfilled the coolant reservoir, then slowly removed most of the excess using a length of hose and my thumb on one end..the remaining excess dripped out of the overflow when I brought the engine up to temperature.

Then the Panavise actiongrip that I bought off Amazon showed up, with the locking lever installed upside down..off to Home Depot to get a length of steel rod, cut some threads on one end and loctite a nut on it. Tomorrow I’ll remove the rivet holding the lever in the suction cup, flip the lever over, measure the rod, cut it to length and cut some threads on the other end..
