Mine is stored away during the week. I just get weekend visitation. I miss it.
Saturday is going to be a nice ride. Early cause it get's hot and rainy here in the afternoon.
Then an oil change and rear end lube change after the ride.

I got behind a guy in the HOV lane yesterday with a sticker on the back of his car that had a silhouette of a motorcycle on it and said "Born to ride, forced to work."

Rode it to work. Got a message from a friend asking me how close am I to WIlliamsport, PA. Told him 2 hours thinking he wanted to meet for lunch. Get told there is an IBR rider with a broken BMW who needs a bike to finish the rally on. Coworker and I left work, he went and picked up a trailer and we delivered MY FJR to JD Smith of AZ to finish his first IBR on and retrieved his oil puking beemer which is now safely in my garage.

Guess I'll have to ride my coworkers 2006 for a couple of days.

YOU ARE THE MAN, CHUCK!

Now you can honestly say, while looking at your FJR, "Yeah, that baby finished the 2019 IBR."

Took a call from JD a little bit ago thanking me yet again. He said the bike's purring like a kitten and wanted to check fuel capacity and how far he can trust pushing the fuel envelope. I gave him my figures but warned FJR nominal she can get thirsty. Wishing him well and hoping someone gets me a picture of him at the finish.

I left the FJR and took the troop carrier to gas it up for the wife, and picked up some pine straw on the way back, and it occurred to me- this morning is the only, and I mean only time I’ve been in a four wheeled vehicle I (or any other private party) owned since some time in 2018. The only time I’ve been in an enclosed vehicle has been for work, in quite a while. Tomorrow, the Cherohala Skyway and Dragon will be perpetrated.

Rode an FJR to work. The one on loan from a coworker until his shoulder is healed up. Watched the SPOT track of MY FJR on it's way to the finish in Greenville for the IBR.

Washed the road grime off it, accumulated in the 3 province, 4 state tour to CFR and back... looks better now. Need to check maintenance records for oil change.. pretty sure it's due.

Hey Mr Chuck, well I talked to my buddy and I'm not sure what time your guy rolled in but unfortunately he didn't see anyone that fit the description before he had to bail out and head to work. So I'm sorry to say he came up empty. I hope someone else there may have had better luck snapping you that pic. Like everyone else said you da man for lending out your ride and of course taking one for the team and riding your buddies while he's laid up! 😁

On edit...saw on the other thread you got your pics! Excellent!

Picked up 5L of Rotella T5, I need to pickup a filter. I looked and the last oil change was in August of last year. Not that I put that many miles on it (missing EOM). But, I usually change the oil before the long white.

Rode her to work. Reveled in the lilac and lavender smell from my just-washed helmet liner.

Narrowly missed breaking 19,000 on the odometer (2018 bike purchased in November of 2018). Person I met to ride with showed up with slicks that quickly turned to cord. So the ride turned into finding an Indy shop in nowhere that’d put rubber on. Went home after that. While I made most of the trip in firstgear and Olympia mesh, since there were no FJR’s around, I went home in jeans and a t-shirt.

Okay. That’s a lie. I narrowly missed meeting the rider of a blue fjr with a factory top case at the Tellico cafe. Good restaurant. Nothing fancy. Avoid the iced tea. They think when people order tea they’ll just overlook the fact that it tastes like berries.

I thought about you on the way there. Looking forward to riding with you, or at least knowing there’s a decent chance I’ll pass you in the mountains.
