Introduction

Post by redrider2014fjr1300 »

Greetings FJR owners.
I am supposed to introduce my self so here we go.
My name is Marc and I live in Buffalo, NY.
I have been riding bikes for many many years.
I started riding FJRS with a 1992 FJR 1200 and fell in love and have never owned any other bike.
I upgrade to 2005 FJR and rode that un till I decided to once again upgrade to a 2014 FJR
As many years of experience as I have riding motorcycles I have never ridden a better bike.
I am interested in finding other FJR riders in my area to ride with.

Welcome!
I’d be more than happy to swear under oath that having watched you ride for many, many miles, there is no way in hell you could be speeding through those curves. -0face

Welcome! If you'd posted last week, I would have invited you to my tech day down here in Eden (was this past Saturday). We'll definitely have to get together and ride this summer sometime. Just PM me!

Welcome aboard Marc!

For the rest of the collective nuthouse on here, Memorial Day weekend Dianne and I went on a Tour of Honor and Pressed Penny Challenge ride through the New England states and ended up staying at the same hotel as this guy on Sunday night in Lee, MA! We met him on Monday morning as we were all packing to leave and I told him he really needs to sign up here. I think it was the bad ass license plate frame that sold him on it!

I'm glad to see you joined us! Great group of folks and they can help save you a ton of bucks learning to wrench on your own bike.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think my love affair with Yamaha street bikes started with the 750/850 triple, and especially the XS1100 Midnight Special. I've been told that the XS1100 provided the roots that grew into the FJ1100, the FJ1200, and ultimately the FJR. Regardless, when the FJ1200 was released, I was smitten with admiration. Last year, I saw a BEAUTIFUL example restored to period correct glory at the Barber museum. I stared at it, and I was back in the day. I was at the place that I never actually went, but dreamed endlessly of going. I was at the bike shop on a Saturday morning, pulling up in my white FJ1200. It had an aftermarket pipe that was noticeable, but not obnoxious. And even though my riding skills were no where near that bike's capabilities even with a plug wire pulled, I was on the coolest bike in the land, I was 22 years old, I was a bad ass, and EVERYONE within a zipcode knew it.

Oh... I almost forgot the part about my gorgeous girlfriend with the perky boobies, who happened to be riding with me that morning.....

So thanks Redrider for the awesome trip down memory lane.

Welcome to a special place. We are gathering in British Columbia (CFR) on June 22-24 and again in Spearfish, SD on June 29 - July 1. Check your tires and start packing. I'll see you there.

Welcome from Seattle-ish. My 07 FJR is my first Yamaha, but I'm loving it and will buy another when I wear it out (although with 131,000 miles on it, it's still running great :) ).

Jeez redrider! If you joined after meeting Chuck, you've got some serious courage! Consider joining us for this big RTE. Lots of fun around Maggie Valley, and there will be FJRs riding down from your area.

Welcome, Buffalo dude.
