Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Has to be 10 miles on the street to count as a day ridden. I had hoped to have some type of dual sport or something lightweight in my stable by winter but missed that boat. I've gotten up early in the morning to beat the weather forecast and once rode just after midnight to get my day in knowing it was going to snow. I may have to do that again late tonight or early tomorrow with my area's current forecast. Neighbors think I'm nuts....

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Rode about 250 miles today. Sunny skies and about 60 this afternoon.
Found a few roads I hadn’t ridden before. Nothing earth shattering, but the newness of it was interesting.
Subway sandwich for lunch and I was glad to find it in the middle of nowhere.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Further blurring the line between being committed and if I should be committed I just got back from a quick midnight ride. Day 303 now in the books ahead of the predicted snowfall. Quick 12 miles at 23 degrees but no traffic! Provided the roads are safe and clear before midnight Wednesday my streak continues. Now to get back to sleep before my alarm goes off for work.

Day 304 consecutive safely in the books. No riding it to work this morning we had about 3 inches of snow overnight. Light and powdery I figured roads would be clear by the time I got home. 23 degrees was almost balmy.

Rode again today, with same temps as yesterday. My daughter's car is in the shop, so since she's using my car, I'll ride in again tomorrow morning. Below freezing expected, so it'll be a chilly ride.

Rode to work this morning. 18 degrees on the trip in but calling for 40 by this afternoon. Day 306 consecutive is complete. Weather forecast for the weekend says it could hit 50 tomorrow so maybe I can wash it again and get a few more miles than just the minimum I've been getting.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Rode it to work. Which is pretty awesome considering the last fillup in my log book is 12/11 and I can only get back and forth to work two times on a tank of gas. Tires showed me they needed to be replaced mid December, but with the holidays and stuff going on, I could afford the cash or the time to replace them. The weather really hasn't been motivating either. Then I picked up the GSX-S1000 and have been flogging it a little including one ride to work on a really nice day. Ordered tires and they came in over the weekend but they sent the correct rear and incorrect front. After straightening that out I mounted the rear last night so I could ride to work today.
I tell you what, after riding that manic insane little GSX-S1000 around, I was reminded of what a fat heavy slow unresponsive pig the FJR is. I'd gotten used to the touchy throttle and when I rolled on the throttle of the big FJR, nothing happened, till I rolled it further. I also had to remember to stop reaching for the clutch lever. But by the time I reached the highway it was all old and comfortable again. And on hitting highway speeds in the 35F temperatures I was reminded that I have a comfy seat, a windshield, a place to plug in my Gerbings and my oh my, heated grips! Smiled all the way to work and back.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Rode to work this morning continuing my streak. Day 311 complete. Turned 91k on the odometer over the weekend. Weather is staying manageable so far. 2 rides taken at just after midnight to avoid the snow forecasts and both times roads were cleared and sufficiently clean for the following day. Monday after work was in the 50's so I managed to give it a pretty decent bath and get all the crap hosed off particularly underneath. Still have to get through February and March but keeping my dream alive!

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Reminds me of the local jackwagons in Toronto who show up at the bike show in January, wearing their summer gear (patched leather vest and chaps and a beanie). They usually park directly in front of the main doors because their so cock stiff cold they can't wait the extra minute to find heat. Then, they get to the ticket booth and realize that their fingerless gloves have resulted in fingers so cold they no longer bend. Meaning they can't get out there wallets to pay for the ticket.El Toro Joe wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2018 11:19 am Unplugged the battery tender, moved it out of hibernation, pumped up the tires...I'll be riding it to the IMS this afternoon.
So, they accost anybody within ear shot proclaiming how hardcore they are.
The real hardcore guys rode from 150km away, in the dark, and are now IN the show. Thats where you'll find Joe.
