Amen, brother. Here's just another bit of evidence: "It really isn't that much bigger than the normal tank ... "

Yeah, sure Griff. Whatever you say, man.

I parked next to Josh Mountain once and until you have a "normal" FJR tank next to one of those "Frankentanks" you can't really understand how big they can be. Parked by themselves and properly painted they're really a work of art. Fit and finish was amazing to me and I think his was pushing real close to IBR limits. I have no need for an 11 gallon tank when I'm handling what sometimes feels like an only 8 ounce bladder!

Same here, I'm ready for a stretch by the time the tank is ready for a splash.

Mind you, some piece of mind would be a good thing.

Yes the IBR sized Frankentanks I understand cause fitment problems with the bars. My tank bag sits a little bit higher on mine, not much. For an extra 2 1/2 gallons, it's worth it.

Wow! Not only is it beautiful, it has great sticky tires to stick to that vertical surface!

Did the photo show in the correct orientation? I'm using an old hosting site, now that PB became an ass.

The photo is 90 degrees off with the top of your head on the left side of the photo.
Unless there was a severe gravitational anomaly, I'm guessing it's incorrect.

If you insist. What did I do to my FJR? Got it a stable mate. This bike is bonkers.

Image

Hardest thing in the world to do.

Image

Brandy new, never had one with 0 miles on the clock, there's usually at least one or two.

Image

Been shopping around since getting rid of my GSX-R750 for something with better upright seating. Found this local brand new left over 2016 and the deal they were offering was too good to pass up. OTD was several thousand under MSRP and actually came out cheaper than the last new bike I bought way back in in 2001. Just got in from my first ride and this thing is insane. We like to say the FJR is a rocket, but yea, no it's not. I've now ridden a real rocket. And I haven't even gotten out of break in rpm's yet!!!

LKLD - congrats on your new FJR. She's Purdy!!

Jasen - is that a GSX750? I sat on one of those in Austin at the Moto GP race. I really like the ergonomics.

Buddy and I rode 325 miles today through the back country and into Natchez, MS. Great ride. Nice sunny weather around 60 degrees. We pushed his fuel window just a bit too much. He ran out of gas literally 0.3 miles from the station. I rode up to the station and asked a pickup truck driver there if he had a portable gas tank. Turns out he just filled his and he gave us a couple mouthfuls to get to the station.

The fuel range on a Versys 1000 LT is about 240 miles.

Well fudge. I'm seeing it on here with the correct orientation. Sheesh. :(

Jasen, congratulations on the beautiful bike, looks like it'll give you tons of smiles!

Nice bikes.

Happy to hear someone can ride today.

In other news. I leaned the snow shovel up against the FJR. I hear we are gonna be needing it tomorrow.

Snow is stupid.
I often have found myself when I was not looking, nor did that discovery take place where I thought it would!
