Rode it to work. Rode home in a light to medium rain. It's only about 13 miles so I didn't bother with the rain gear. I'd forgotten how nice a light rain at 1 am at 72*f is on this bike- I gotta say I really enjoyed that! Other bubbleheads know what I mean.....

Put on a vstream shield. Immediate impressions are not entirely favorable.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I put on a VStream -regular a few months ago to replace my Givi. Just because the grass is greener.
It's about 10% better. I like the way the Givi looks with the reverse flip and the tinting to hide the mounting bracket. The VStream was horrendous going down to the EOM in the 100F heat for 13hrs. I almost stopped on the side of the road to remove and pack it.

Yeah...sucky reviews without some elucidating comments don't do much...your review is not entirely favorable.
See, I gave reasons.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I have the V-Stream. Traded a guy a stock screen straight up for it. I've never been quite happy with it. At 5'7" I seem to be just below the sweet spot for it. If I lift my butt up a few inches my helmet gets more into the smoother air it feels like. As it is there's a lot of buffeting with it. Seems like it'd be better for a taller rider.
That said, Redfish was kind enough to loan me two screens from Pop's old bike. Can't remember which ones, sorry, but the shorter one just dumped way too much air on me and the taller one with the reverse lip blocked too much wind in the summer. So much that the air would get stale in my helmet and I'd have to open the visor and stand up to flush the helmet. Also, oddly, it would either be the quietest windscreen in the world or the loudest. Never could figure that one out, guessing the angle of wind may have affected it some. I put back on the V-Stream and was much happier with it for having tried something else. Still, one of these days I bet I find a stock screen and try that again and see. Maybe Yamaha got it right for me from the factory.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I'm 5'-10 with 31" inseam (taller torso, shorter legs, natural wrestler proportions) and the stock screen on my 13 is perfect. The Gen 3 stock screen system lets more air in than the Gen 1 system, which I noticed when I did the fly and ride from Chicago to SC...started out 36 degrees and light rain...burr. But I love that there is no helmet back pressure when I raise up the screen for rain or chill....plus, in summertime SC...the extra air flow is nice.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I took wifey on a leaf peeping ride up to and along the BRP. Colors were only so so from 276 West. She enjoyed some of the panoramic BRP views, but then we headed down the hill on 215/178.
I did a really bad thing today...I gave Louanne motion sickness on 215/178. She asked me if there were a lot more curves...she made it fine...but bad on my part. Bad Mark.

Replaced cam chain tensioner with the green dot one. It stopped the slight cam chain rattle.

Last night I tore it down and replaced my cell phone charging cable with a USB-C cable so I can now charge my phone on the go that I've had for a year now.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Rode NGA, warwoman, bridgecreek, Blood Mtn and WolfPen gap a couple times. Had a sammich at TWO, then headed into NC with Wayah Rd, 64, Walnut Creek Rd, 107, 281/130...where I got a little antsy.
Had a great day with griff and Duane...400+ miles for both of them, less for me. Awesome day!
I love my FJR!
Wayne, I think I can get another day ride outta these tars!

https://www.google.ca/maps/place/Skyuka ... 82.2318548Skyuka Mountain Road, near Columbus, NC, October 18 - This road is one of the most technically difficult roads I have ever experienced in the US and Europe. This is "expert level only" stuff and there is just no room for error. Steeper than it looks here, a moments hesitation or misjudgment in a corner can land you in a world of hurt. Yes, it's on the maps but with a strong warning. Like this page. If it's a good road it goes on the maps. Some of them are good to the extreme. Think hard before you decide to give this one a go, it's a real test of ability. Map #5

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Spent the weekend snagging a few more Tour of Honor memorials to wrap up the season for that event. 525 miles Saturday and Sunday combined. Rode it to work this morning continuing my riding streak. Day 218 consecutive of 10 miles or more per day. Hoping for a mild winter in my pursuit of a perfect year.

I've got your back if we can schedule something together. And "I've got your back" means I'll probably be somewhere between 1/4 and 3/4 of a mile behind you, you scofflaw hoon.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Griff's already ridden this road with some retarded/retired folks. He says it's all 10-15mph switchbacks...if yer into that sorta thing. Sorry Bungie...he didn't send a photo. But next time some Canadians want to come down and manhandle Griff's bike during a tech day, piggy back with them and we will take you there.
Hud, it would be easier to schedule if your wife sent me the days you are available to ride...then mebbe we could do something. But I prefer north Georgia at the moment.
