Changed the engine oil in both mine and Pop's. We went with Motul full synthetic. I plan to make the YFO trip and worry about changing it when I get back home.

It was probably foolish to spend that much money on the ridiculously expensive Motul 7100 series oil but what the hell. It made me feel better. And it is such a pretty red color!

Packed it. Repacked it. Re-repacked it. Still packing it.

I suck.

YFO has me exhausted and I have not rolled a single mile yet.

Rule #1 about packing a motorcycle. Do you not pack tightly. That shit will never go back on the bike again.

Rule #2 aboot packing a motorcycle: You're not gonna need most of the shit you just packed, so leave half of it at home. You'll be fine.

Rule # 3 when stopping for the night, always stop on the FAR SIDE of town. Nobody wants to deal with locals during rush hour the next morning.

Today I gave the FJR a sexy new roommate. Now there's two Penske's in the garage I have to keep an eye on.

gixxerjasen wrote:There was a big brown box in front of my door when I got home from some Doofus Ugly Cajun. I should call him DUC. Anyway, there were some goodies inside. The FJR is quietly waiting because it appears Traxxion has a few week backlog of work (they told me this before I shipped) so it hasn't been ridden. Good news is that since it's all torn apart, it made the job of this little upgrade that much easier. There were some other goodies which will require their own thread at a later date.

Do you have this going yet? Curious what the result is. Worth doing?

Not worth the switch actually. TOTALLY worth it if you don't have one already. I need to pull the PCV and send it back to friend and hook the PCIII back up, but with the Florida like humidity I don't think it's happening this weekend.

Today, I rode my FJR through west Texas and central New Mexico with two buddies and had an absolute blast. I got one fine motorcycle, my friends.

And the best part? Tomorrow, we get to do it all over again!!

I put the stock windshield that came with my bike back on it now that it is much warmer out. I really like the stock windshield, it works very well for me. I just wish it was tinted.

Rode the piss out of it the last couple of days while doing the Iron Butt challenge with Tony. I agree with Mr Pants, we have some fine machines. My feej ran flawlessly while under way, only problem I had with it was it kept running out of gas. I got flashed (4 ways) 3 or 4 times by the highway patrol on I10 in Texas and we were only running 8 over the posted 80 mph speed limit. Hmpf! I'll give Tony another plug here, he is an awesome distance rider, and even tolerated most of my unorganized fuel stops.
