Right at 1,000 km between Friday and yesterday. FJRoss came to seeme from New Brunswick heading to parts north. We had a good time exploring southern Quebec. Ride report and pictures forthcoming.

Stay thirsty, my friends....

Finally managed to brute force the screw off the other pannier lock. Got it all re-keyed and put back together with blue locktite and brute forced back in. Hopefully I never have to mess with them again, because it'll be screw extractor time.

Now to figure out the gas cap and the seat lock so I can be back to one key again, plus the Shad key. So technically two keys. Might have to look at that and see if there's any compatibility. I doubt it though.

Rode mine to work again as well. Meeting another FJR owner after work and trading them a stock windscreen for a Yamaha touring windscreen. I happen to have 2 stock screens and the bike they bought came with the touring screen on it and they want a stock screen. Figure the touring screen will be nice in the winter months.

Yeah, and why the fk did I have to do physics, statics, dynamics, and all my engineering courses in both American and SI units? WTF!!!

We were told in 1970 that we were changing over to "metric". They even had interstate signage out there 100 km from cities to get people used to it.

55 years later, still not done. Im now convinced that Hell will freeze over before it happens. I will be sitting frozen in hell with metric conversions still uselessly stuck in my head.

Do you not have a better feel for what the units mean having to deal with both systems? Such as the difference between pounds-force and pounds-mass, newtons and kilograms?

Nah. Makes no difference.

K. Is the typical unit used on structural drawings. 1000 lbs= 1kilo pound= 1 KIP =1K

Moments are in units of Kip-Ft typically, or Kip-Inches for smaller connections. The Building Code and is in American(English) units.
