I'll be headed north in a couple of weeks but in the eastern part of the country. Quebec and Labrador. Fires aren't a problem there (yet), but long range forecast for June looks moderately warm and quite dry.CollingsBob wrote: ↑Tue Jun 03, 2025 8:13 pm There’s lots of places in Northern Canada that best avoided right now..yesterday morning we could barely see the end of the block..

Re: ALCAN Closed in BC Due to Fires
Thanks for posting this - I'm leaving this month to head up that way, with plans to be west of Edmonton by 6/27 on my way up to Fairbanks. I'll join that FB group from @Pterodactyl's pic for sure but are there any other resources for real-time info you guys are aware of?

Answering my own question, since I'm impatient and Google is your friend.
Here's the road closures/conditions for BC at least: https://beta.drivebc.ca/?type=event&dis ... y=closures

We've decided to head north on the Cassiar HWY. I enjoy that ride anyway, there is much less traffic and development. Haven't been to Hyder, AK for several years and I'm looking forward to see how it has changed.

Hyder...as of last year, it hasn't changed for the better since I first visited in 2011.Pterodactyl wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 12:54 pm We've decided to head north on the Cassiar HWY.
