The issue with my tire in Ohio was a slice in the sidewall from a piece of metal on the road. The tire was fairly new at the time, but not plugable.
Yah - that one definitely could not be saved.

Worst I ever did was to find a screw in the middle of the rear tire as I was replacing the paper temporary tag with the permanent tag on a brand-new sport bike.

Plugging vs. not.... for a small nail hole, might not want to ream it and plug it, but rather just put a plain patch on the inside. It more than works... plug patch if the hole was bigger/needed reaming. I'd resist plugging or plug patching that tire. Simple patch, properly applied more than adequate.
And yes, I wouldn't be without a TPMS system...

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can sure muffle the sound.
320 miles today railing the fast sweepers of East Texas. The weather is gorgeous and the wildflowers along the road are lovely. The secondary state roads here are really good and traffic is virtually non existent.
Having a good time.

Another great day riding East Texas and then home. We met a friend for lunch and he rode with us a while this afternoon. Ended up being 450 miles for Mike P and I today, 1100 for the 3-day trip. We got home safe this evening.
I had a good time. Ride report forthcoming.

This is what friends do...
Instead of riding SEOhio with D-Eagle today, I levered on a new PR4GT to replace the nailed 700 mile 4GT on his rear wheel...
You levered it on? Last several I did had an audience who didn't believe I could pull the old off with bare hands and RuGlyde on my NoMar, and put the new on same way. Still need the leverage of the bead breaker to get things started.
Michelin tires are the only ones I've been able to do this.

Not a brag. PR4GTs are made of butter. That's why my collarbone recommends them.

By far, easiest tire I've ever taken off, but back on, then off again and put a new one back on...
Minimal effort, no lever needed actually, only the mounting tool...

Installed a set of blockoff plates, crafted by extrememarine and donated by raYzerman. Love how clean the top of the engine looks now!
The mod that only you will ever get to appreciate, and you'll appreciate it every time you have to get in there.

Been looking at the Giant Loop Possibles Pouch for a bit to solve a couple of problems. Someone locally posted up for sale a Giant Loop fender bag, which is just a possibles pouch along with the Rubber Boa Straps. Since the temperatures were so nice, I took the FJR and fought the wind and traffic the whole way there and back, but it was better than being in the Expedition.
