Installed a Sena Mesh+ adapter unit. Hopefully will improve comms with more than 3 in a group. 3 is usually fine. Adding a 4th makes it a cluster*^&k getting us all connected.

Anybody else use the Mesh+? thx

Checked the oil and the pressures. Leaving around 7am for some combination of Cherohala/28/129/Bell Mountain that I haven’t figured out yet. You know the area. Supposed to be dry in all those areas. Holler if you weren’t cool enough for SFO and want to link up.

I wasn't cool enough for SFO, but there's want to and able to....sounds like an awesome ride!

I looked at it today while it was snowing this morning. Oops wrong thread. ⛄

Maybe tomorrow I will change the front fork oil.

Well, I am cool enough for SFO, and showed up unannounced to shock as many southerners as I could. It worked. FJR stayed home, trailered the Honda down. Never been to Alabama before.

Same. Like exactly the same. Bike is in the shed, but not prepped for winter. That'll happen probably next weekend. The odds of getting a rideable day on a weekend are pretty much nil at this point.

Rode it to the top of Bell Mountain, where I stand as I type this. Hoped for a sunrise photo. Fully fogged in. Road up is a death trap of wet leaves. Avoid this overlook for a few days.

ETA- just got down. Rear brake non functional. Pedal goes all the way down. Gonna let it set a minute. Maybe it will magically come back.

Well, that sucks about the brakes...too late now to check, but were components really hot? (Boiling fluid?)

Hope the rest of your ride is better...

Same, I'd love to be riding those roads with Bill today, or hanging out with the SFO peeps, but here I am, at work, bah humbug!

End of the year PTO for me but I still went to work today. :( Came home and shook the leaves off of the covers of the bikes I left outside yesterday and plan to spend the rest of the day riding aimlessly until it gets dark. I should have been in WNC like Bill. Almost never a bad time to be there. ( they would have had more trouble calling me into work at least.. Sorry guys, I'm hours away)

Sounds like moisture in the fluid, it needs changing.. it would have heated up, got a little steamed and made you some air in the system.... check the pedal isn't sticking, lube it up.... fresh fluid and you'll be good to go.

Factory fluid. Levers are clean and lubed. Coming up on the one year fluid change in a few weeks. Rode that pedal all the way down Bell Mtn. It held firm until I was almost to the bottom, when I let off of it and went back to it, that was when it faded.

Removed the front forks and put them in the house to warm up. Tomorrow I will change fork oil and put it all back together. Snow is in the forecast this week and freezing temp. Ugh - it has begun.

Well, Chuck. It was pouring down freakin rain all day long. Busy highways around Birmingham in the pouring rain is not what most had in mind. Truck worked just fine.

Autumn in almost everywhere: really cold, like 30F; maybe snowing.
Autumn in the Southland: really cold, like 50F; maybe raining.
