This morning was supposed to be a full on monsoon. Instead, got to ride to work in mesh, just beating the rain. Dry afternoon. Like Hud, my commute was much more enjoyable than usual.

Left Daytona Beach Monday morning and meandered our way to Panama City Beach last night. Left there this morning currently enjoying lunch in Pensacola and headed towards MS next. Enjoying vacation!

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
(yesterday)
I over inflated the tires.
Now hold on a dog gone minute! There's a method to my madness. My shop air compressor shite the bucket. It's the pressure switch. I ordered a new one from Home Depot, and it will be here sometime between now and 5/14/2029. In the meantime, I borrowed my Dad's nifty little 2 gallon jobbie and brought it home. Recognizing that the launch weather Thursday for my SFO tour is unknown, I inflated the front to 45 psi, and the back to 50 psi. Thursday morning, I can just piss out the excess air and off I go!!

'Wired up my new Garmin 396 LMTS...
I decided to attach a compact 90 degree cigarette lighter plug to the Garmin power cable and run it through the drain plug hole to the accessory outlet inside the "glove box"
'Secured the extra/loose cable with a few zip ties and we're done.
I figure doing it this way lets me remove the cradle easily if ever I need/want to.

Bungie, regarding snowmobiles I can assume you have never owned a boat. Boats make snowmobiles look cheap.
Rode it to work. 50F! Had to put the grip heaters on medium and raise the windshield. BRRRR!

Oh I know about boats. I didn't mention those because a sane person would never even consider owning one. But snowmobiles...

A boat is a hole in the water, surrounded by wood into which one pours money.

In this case fiberglass. A wooden boat would be even worse.
Sanity has never been a requirement for me but eating is important. I like to eat and boats make that better.

You'll have to come up here sometime and I'll take you fishing on Lake Temagami. Just bonkers fishing for Walleye, Pickeral and Lake Trout. Or, we can go just north of here and go for Northern Pike (think Musky with a bad attitude).

I can tell you that it's better to have the bike there while you are recovering. Pop was lost and depressed until I parked that 2014 in his shop. He had me put the bike on the centerstand and then he pulled a stool over next to the bike. He would climb his one armed, crippled, broken carcass up onto the bike and he learned all the Gen3 menus and controls. His recovery went much faster once that bike was in his shop.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Weather has turned nice today so I am going for a ride. The last 2/3 days out riding I have slipped on sand and gravel. I am a slow guy anyway but batting 67% is ridiculous. The plan today is stay on the main roads as much as possible to avoid another unexpected bobble. Wheaton will be my inspiration for keeping the tires on the pavement. Get well soon Wheaton.
Searching for roads paved with Asphalt, unless I am riding the mighty DR650 bushpig.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Thanks buddy. And in that vein, and this may be posted elsewhere, I am having collarbone surgery on October 31st. I will also be donating a bone core or two from my right hip to provide additional bone during the plate and bone repair. Since this will occur on Halloween (scary!), I have asked them to install some Frankenstein bolts on my neck in case my bike needs a jump, or if I need a jump.Redfish wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 11:01 amThis needs an "Unlike" button.wheatonFJR wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 10:54 am Putting Stabil in the gas tank for until I can ride again.

Outpatient surgery on Thursday am, they say I will be able to go to work on Monday.
They say that I should be healed/bonewise in 6 weeks after surgery. Crossing my fingers. I messed up my collarbone the Friday after EOM during a rear tire replacement task, using 50% force on my right arm, pushing the rim into my NoMar chock. I had an AWESOME EOM riding...so this surgery will be a good thing.

That sayin', don't use my experience as a bellweather...I have fallen in ditches and gotten right back up other times. In fact, I was being extra careful this past spring when the thang happened. I chock it up to my sinful life....and hanging around too close to Marty. But I ain't changin, in fact I intend on acceleratin'...
