Please let us know your experience with the auto train. I might use it in the future, depending.
I know a few folks that have used it. Nothing but good comments.wheatonFJR wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2019 7:35 amPlease let us know your experience with the auto train. I might use it in the future, depending.
That T50 bolt was crazy tight on mine as well. I was worried the torx head itself would strip, so I replaced it with a hex head bolt.BkerChuck wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 10:15 am Shifter pedal was where the trouble began. That T-50 torx fastener did not want to budge. Finally had to get out a breaker bar and use it. With my left wrist still hurting this is not what I wanted to do. Finally get it to move but I'm deathly afraid it's going to strip the threads. One I have it out just a couple of threads I can see it's got RED loctite on it. Did Yamaha seriously use RED loctite on these fasteners? Got out a micro torch and applied heat until it melted the loctite then proceeded. The other 4 bolts all had blue loctite and more of that than is necessary. I ended up chasing all of the treads with taps and dies before reassembly. Any one else run into this or am I unique in this regard? I don't think the PO ever had any of this apart based upon how stuff looks as I'm working on the bike.
We did it several years ago. Good way to get out of FL when it's hot. Beats slabbing up I-95 during the summer. Put your bike on that afternoon. Eat,drink, sleep and you wake up in VA.rbentnail wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2019 8:35 amI know a few folks that have used it. Ive used for the car before, but this year put the bike on it for a work conf in orlando in late march. I got the roomette, which is two seats that fold to a single bed with an over head bunk. Cozy enough with plenty room for gear, maybe cramped for two. Bathroom 10ft away. Had vacation from wed on that week and after spending a few days with friends rode the fjr home from fl to pa. Awsome tripwheatonFJR wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2019 7:35 amPlease let us know your experience with the auto train. I might use it in the future, depending.
