My boss asked me if I was gonna turn in a mileage report. Lol. I responded with

Me: “I played hookie for almost 2 hours while on the deliveries. Paying me .55 cents per mile would make me feel like I am stealing from the district!”

Her: “So would you be willing to deliver small items over the break on school time over the break of you can ride your cycle?”

Me: “If you let me ride my FJR on company time, I will deliver anything you want to anywhere you want!”

Her: “Let me know when the weather works out for you.”

I think I have found Nirvana. Jasen, I can put in a good word for you.

Rode mine to work again this morning.

Speaking of riding on company time.....I work for a company that does hydraulic cylinder repair for large construction equipment, mobile cranes, big front end loaders, even the cylinders used to open and close the gates on hydro electric dams. Last year a crane company sent in 2 cylinders for rebuild but inadvertently left the 4 mounting pins needed to install them in the leaking cylinders. They had 2 spare cylinders they could swap in but needed their pins back ASAP. They called us and asked us to see if we could arrange for them to be picked up and delivered to one of their locations about 200 miles away. Our logistics person made some calls and the lowest price we were quoted was almost $700. I jokingly asked how big and how heavy were the pins that if they fit in my saddlebags I'd deliver them personally. Well, 2 pins fit in each bag but were probably a little on the heavy side but I only needed to move them about 200 miles.I was told to stay on the clock until I got back to the shop plus paid .58 per mile and reimbursed for my turnpike tolls. One ride bought me my next pair of tires and saved our customer some money while getting their parts a whole bunch quicker than a trucking company could have done. My boss is now okay with me delivering or picking up small items provided we can bill for it.

Road Runner wrote: Thu Apr 02, 2020 9:05 am Washed it and went over it with Meguires paint cleaner. It's a light compound that removes what washing doesn't, and light scratches. It basically cleans and buffs the paint. Next I'll polish which puts the oils back in paint and gives that deep look. Then a coat of wax to protect it.
Wow the old Black Cherry is still looking like the fastest color. 😁
After reading your post I went out and picked up some of this. Love my FJR but the paint does scratch up much easier than the Goldwings I have owned in the past. That paint was practically bullet proof. So far this seems to get out tiny scratches and scuff marks but is not going to get out anything substantial as you would expect. It sure shines the bike up nicely and believe it was a good choice. 12 bucks ain't cheap but how can you put a price on a shiny FJR. Funny how a washed and waxed bike seems to run better :D

They probably underestimate the delivery radius possible with an FJR. :D

Too bad our district boundaries don't include Arkansas. LOL

Left my essential job at 11:30, and took the long way home. Currently enjoying a good cigar along with some great bourbon, while the wife is weeding the flower beds, beautiful day here in Ohio.

Box came in with seven individually bagged nylon screws.

Got the summer shield all buttoned up with new screws. Old screws bagged (together) in case I need one, and put away. Noticed the tag was expired...in August. I should probably take care of that. Need to see if Kwik Kar is open on the next nice day to get my inspection done first though.

Yea, in light of the virus, around here they've extended the deadlines and won't cite you. However, they probably wont' cite you for a March expiration, not so sure I could get away with an August expiration. :D

Washed last year's bugs and last weekend's salt off it. Lots of rain during the week to rinse crap off the roads. Going for a ride tomorrow despite the fact that it isn't supposed to get very warm. High 40s F, maybe, but I'll take it.

Brought mine back home yesterday. I normally keep it up in C FL cause we spend most weekends up there. Plus, the riding is way better up there. Due to the stay at home order we will probably not go back for awhile. So I loaded up the trailer with the bikes, loaded most of my tools and some supplies.

Guess I am ready for lock down.

I will probably ride the FJR once a week or so. I have a short commute, but I can take the long way home.
