Hello from Minnesota!

Post by Drinyth »

I'm not sure how I stumbled upon this site (I think it was referenced elsewhere on one of the groups that I frequent?), but I just registered a few days ago. Minnesotan here and living in the Twin Cities. I bought my FJR in early April last year (we had good riding that early in 2017 here - and a blizzard here in 2018 in that same month :x ) and have been loving it ever since.

That's all. Let the hazing commence.

Welcome to the best FJR place on the entire interwebs.

Hazing? Now there's an idea!

To join our club, you must do something really profane. Like...post a really long ride report without the mention, or picture, of any food or beer!
There's just too much what the f@$k in this thread to know where to begin...

Minnesotans are strange, eh? I'm sure there is some backstory to all of that which I have missed over the thousand(s!) of posts that you guys have shared.

I can't believe that I haven't stumbled on this site, as active as it is, until just now. Remind me not to ever play hide and seek with you all.

Welcome to the institution.

As far as hazing is concerned, you need to bring a sheep. :bustinlove:

Welcome.

I believe Wheatie is referring to Team Strange which is based in Minnesota. These folks put on some real nice rallies, check them out here
http://www.teamstrange.com/

I know he isn't trying to refer to any of the fine upstanding riders who are or have come from the land of 10,000 lakes. Everyone knows those folks are the salt of the earth and the best riders.

Their website isn't loading for me right now, but I'll check them out a little later when it hopefully does load.

And people here *do* talk funny. You betcha! Makes me glad to be an transplant (although after being here going on 20 years, I hope it's not finally starting to rub off on me!).

Welcome to the forum from your neighbor to the West. I just passed through the Cities twice last week while going and returning from Marietta OH. It was just a quick 6 day ride to go ride, drink beer, and tell lies with about 30 - 40 jerks that hang out here. Now that you've joined, you'll have to find the real joy in owning a FJR and get to a FJR rally. If you think the Minnesota folks are strange, you should see the circus that congregates at an FJR rally.

Well, your intelligence just went up 50points in my estimation...good to know. All I gotta say, is that if one of the the "you betchas" move to say... "California" the talking is still "funny" and the smartmeter is still pegged to the left. :D

Right Bug? :stickpoke:

BTW...a few more posts and the red noob stain will come off your "handle" and the board will open up to you a little more.

With the talk of sheep, hazing, and backsides, I'm thinking that is a good call.

Groups I frequent caught my eye. Talk about serving it up in the middle of the BS plate. One fellow here has a subform, called the Sheep's Pen, names after him. So where the hell have you been hanging out?

Oh and welcome to the forum. Lot of good people here.

No one place in particular. When I've had a question in the past, I'll often end up where ever "The Google" takes me. Most of the time, it's another FJR forum (I think even named as such). There are also a couple of larger Facebook groups that I've followed with some decent information that comes across there every now and then. I think I heard about this forum when someone mentioned "Riders" on one of the Facebook groups, so I came a searchin'...

Welcome to this sandbox. From another in teh cities.
It funny how within less than a couple of weeks we go from how many times in a day do you have to clear snow to needing air conditioning
